Huge thanks for SportRx for making today’s video possible. Head over to https://www.sportrx.com/?utm_source=RandomGolfClub&utm_medium=Youtube&utm_campaign=Influencer to check them out.
In today’s video we put Costco’s $100 Kirkland Signature wedges up against
custom wedges made by Artisan Golf which cost just north of $900.
We just made a mini doc about Artisan and you can check that out here:

Apologies! We misspoke. While Vokey wedges are forged for Japanese and Tour models, they aren’t forged for the majority of the market.
Sorry for the error and hope y’all enjoy.
EAL you need to work on your null hypotheses… Best, SAL
Respect Kirkland!
I feel like a lot of commenters here watched a different video than I did. I think he was fairly transparent about him obviously having bias because of his experience and the custom nature of the clubs and thats why he had a 3rd party there who said the inconsistent nature of the contact and the numbers showed that the Artisan wedges were performing better. He was also getting 4k less spin with a higher loft with the kirkland 52* compared to the Artisan 49*. Not a good thing for wedges. For people saying its hating on the people who cant afford $1,000 for wedges, he mentions he knows that its not an accessible thing for everyone and he also said the better solution than the Kirklands would be to get used wedges that are major brands for close to the same amount of money. As someone who was a fitter for major companies and who also worked in the used club space, I would agree with that. That being said, there is nothing wrong with the Kirkland clubs if thats what you have but they will limit lower handicap players moreso than some good quality used wedges from a more established brand.
The toe digging on the Kirklands could be due to flatter lie angle or the softer shafts causing a bit more droop resulting in the toe digging
Vokey is not FORGED. And I remember when you started. Now it’s beneath you to play a brand like Kirkland. A have an old friend that was on Tour. Grew up poor. Very poor. He once said he would have played with anything you would have given him. No fitting available. I think if your game holds up, it holds up. Artisian will not win you majors. 😂
Kirklands are good not great wedges. I had an instant improvement when I switched to vokeys the weighting is way superior. Pure spin I’m sure they are similar.
ARTISAN TO THE MOON🔥🔥🔥
Why so much hate, but the side eye on not owning a gun was great 😂😂😂 God Bless Texas
The moment he opened a custom set of personalized wedges from Artisan, I knew we would get some user-influenced flaws in the Kirkland’s.
If I can pay $900 less and still get 85% of the performance of the $1,000 wedges, I’m saving that $900 and putting it toward lessons.
What about the giveaway?
Why is it that I knew exactly what he meant when he said "these just feel like a gun" . . .
Not related to the video but what balls is Erik using ??
Feel is very important in golf clubs and confidence makes you hit a club better 🤷♂️ doesn’t have to be an expensive club it’s all about how the club feels and reacts in your hands
Mate just love all your vids. I love your vibe man! Love your work brother ✌️👊
Why are you wanting a low ball with a lob wedge?
I just got called not a "real player" by Random Gold Club. 😂
I am on my second set of wedges; nothing beats just texting Jamie and new wedges are made up! For me its the grind that is just perfect on each of the wedges. Disclaimer i have irons and putter that i also love.
Inconsistency in the swing is crazy for how much this guy plays
vokeys r not forged… vokeys made for the japanese market are forged… was surprised to learn that
Ive been waiting for this since it was teased in the claire hogel WITB video 😍
Oh damn, didn't realize this was going to be a hit job…. I get the support the industry take, but didn't feel objective.
Random Golf Club – Golf for everyone, if you can afford it!
Take the Costco, get it bent and put your shafts into it and then see the difference!!
Lets see Artisan vs Takoma wedges next.
dude… rgc used to be my favourite yt golf channel.. until this video. I loved the artisan video. Good for you, showing off the amazing work of those guys… getting an amazing set of custom high end wedges, sweet as… but seriously, for you, and for most golfers that arn't close to the ver y top end of ball strikers, the Kirklands are extremely good value for money. At the level of you, and most golfers, strike is the most important thing as long as the club is halfway decent.
So, you think the Kirklands are Vokey ripoffs, but not the Artisan? The Artisan look like the SM 9s and SM 10s way more than the Kirklands do.
I love my kirkland wedges, best $150 I've spent. But has anyone seen my 60*, should be greenside on 17 🥲
This dude smokes crack with my friend in Vancouver Canada. We had a good time.
Those Artisan clubs are sexy looking.
Man this guy is easily my least favorite YT golf personality.
Never gave the k sigs a chance
Well, I'll always play Vokeys, but if I got the Kirkland wedges, I'd take them to my friendly neighborhood club maker and have them bent to my loft (depending on the bounce), lie angle, and I'd have him put some shafts in that match my current set. Easy.
this asian dude needs to talk less next time 🙂
Ball striking was different and inconsistent so results are inconclusive
11 hcp use the Kirkland ball and wedges. 115 club head speed with driver and they work fine for me. Maybe my tempo is smoother 🤷🏽♂️
This is allllll for his app sponsors. Good players can play anything.
suggesting RPM differences >3000 is a result of the club and not the impact is insane
I would be interested in seeing you do those Kirkland signatures vs the gen 2's.
16:15 amazing comparison. Can normally tell a high quality firearm just picking it up even if youre blindfolded. Same with good clubs
Kirkland 56 has higher bounce and is aimed at use in bunkers, not the lob wedge. Big fail
Costco wedges are good enough for most golfers.
On my Kirkland (Costco) wedges I replaced the grips to match my existing T100s irons.
These Kirkland wedges worked much better than my old callaway wedges and I don’t wait weeks/months to get them.
I do like the look of custom Artisan wedges and can look at them in the future if I get custom fit for wedges.
🏌🏿♂️⛳️😄
Vokeys aren’t forged 😂
Call this video: how to talk yourself into that you spending $1000 was worth it, when you could have spent $160.
