Here’s a forgotten drill that will get you hitting it long and straight. Well, I actually modified it a little. Your going to start off doing this drill in practice swings with irons or driver. This gets you the feeling of the swing. Then you step up and try to replicate it as you hit the ball.

Funny how times have changed and a lot of the old schools drills and teaching is being discarded. An even funnier thing is this new swing is not making golfer better. I would say I am an old school teacher. Why? Because until this new swing can beat any of the best of all time I will never teach it.

Why would you not teach what the best did? This new swing is unproven and is not dominating on tour and it never will. Like other technique that have come and gone we have to go through the next 10 years hearing about it. Oh, well. I will keep teaching what I teach and keep getting people to hit it long and straight with an effortless feeling. Oh yeah, my swing is for life. Even if you’re 90 you can still do my swing and hit the ball great.

Bingo! Looks too simple to work. But took it to the range and by keeping my head still (axis)…began striping it! Thanks!

Love it dude. Should I just turn the hips? Or worry about them going towards the ball? I hit some great shots but most of them are still turds. And I mean steamy ones. Please help

I think that this drill discourages the impulse to "hit" at the ball. Seems to do so for me. And I like its portability onto the course, as you mentioned, esp when feeling tight or frustrated after a bad shot. Thanks again, Paul. Another winner!!!

Yes! I do this at the range to warm up my swing.

Something I think I’m noticing is the more “free” I get with turning my hips all the way through without stopping or pausing the more I’m starting to see a fade ball flight. This is without changing stance or face at setup. I like it. Trying to keep it from becoming a push fade tho.
