The Swing Caddie SC4 is the latest from Swing Caddie and is exactly what the golfer has been looking for – a reliably accurate launch monitor that doesn’t cost the same as a car!
So you’ve been wanting a launch monitor, but you don’t exactly want to put a second mortgage on your house to buy a $24,000 Trackman, plus the thousands of dollars in subscription fees. Are there any budget launch monitors that are actually accurate, that are worth your money? Today we’re going to test one out and see just how accurate it is. I’ve got an eight iron here. A flag at 178 yards. I’ve got this set to the eight iron. This is a Swing Caddy SC 400. We’re going to see just how accurate it is. This is using range balls. So of course they’re not going to fly the same as a normal, proper ball, but we’re going to be able to put this to the test and see for real whether or not these are worth your money.
174 yards. All right. That flew about there. This is showing 174.9. That flew about 178 yards. So close. About three yards off. That’s pretty darn good for a launch monitor. That is 99% off the price of the Trackman. Let’s hit a few more. Should go about the same distance as the last. 182 yards. 182 is. This is what was reporting. I hit that about 180 yards. That’s pretty darn close. There’s no wind right now, too, so we should be getting pretty accurate numbers. Clubhead speed showing 99.7, 182 total. We’re in the ballpark there. Let’s try a few more.
181 yards. 181 went about that distance. This seems pretty darn close. I’m going to hit one a little bit lower and see if that changes the number. So my launch angle has been showing 26.6 degrees. I’m going to bring this one down and see how accurate that part of it is. 171 yards. 171. 23 degree launch angle. It’s pretty good. It’s showing really, really good numbers. Let’s try one more eight iron at this flag. Normal shot, 182 yards. 182. And it went about 182. So so far, at least with an eight iron, these numbers, if you can see them, are pretty much spot on. I’ve had a Trackman, a FlightScope, zlocity. I’ve had every single GC Quad. I’ve had every single launch monitor on the planet. But for $500, that’s as accurate as you’re gonna get. That is right on the money. Let’s hit a couple drivers.
I’m gonna do this really quick while the range is clear because our range is only 310 yards today. So I gotta do it while there’s nobody down there or I’ll get yelled at again, so we can sit a couple of drivers. I’ve switched the device to driver, and let’s see what it shows here. 350 yards, so 121 swing speed, 175 ball speed, 350 carry. And that’s off the back of the range. Why I had to wait to hit it. So we hit a couple more while the range is still clear. But those are stock numbers for me. If I’m on a track, man, I’m going to be in the low to mid 120s, depending on how hard I’m stepping on it. So we’re pretty darn accurate here. Again, you’re talking about a $550 launch monitor, so you can save yourself $25,000 if this thing is accurate. And that’s always been my biggest thing is a lot of times these little budget things are almost like toys or gimmicks.

swing looks 🔥
Really should be comparing to gc quad beside. Struggle to think you can see accurate at 180 yards?
Says coupon expired already!!
you hit an 8 iron 182 yards?! WTF clubs am I using… my 7 iron goes like 125 🙁 I'm using old taylormade burners from like the 90's. Should I be doubling my swing speed?! I wouldn't know I don't have a launch monitor… but this is rediculous. So I guess you just PW some of the par 3s on my course when I'm there with like a 6 iron… that's fucked.
You should go on tour with that swing!
I can watch your swing for hours. Truly a work of art. So free and seemingly effortless.
Swinging 100mph with an 8 iron while I have difficulty going over 95 with my driver 😢
Chuck how much of your backswing do you still feel your right shoulder pull? Am I overdoing it, if I’m still feeling it pulling back like halfway back through the backswing?
It's crazy to think that as beat up as you are, you still swing the club like a master. I guess once you get it, you've got it. I'm 56 am still trying to get it, and would love to swing the driver 115 even. Currently 105 at best. Am considering speed training with the stack or speed sticks. Not sure though. I have the SC 300i and like it. SC makes a good product for a very fair price when compared to the big guys. Thanks
Why not compare the numbers by a more expensive launch monitor instead of hitting the ball and looking out and guessing the distance?
Do you find the accuracy is as good when you are indoors?
Bro hitting an 8 iron 180 yds. One day…lol
R u kidding?
Accuracy???
SC4 is rubbish…
Total Carry is incorrect… Total carry-Carry= Run distance is around 15~20m in any Spin and Apex…
Launch direction is shown as may the SC4 want to show… even full push or pull, in to our or out to in… it does not show and proper launch direction…
Engineeres in Voice caddie is not professioneral engineer about ballistics.
They do not know what is a Spin, Apex, Launch Direction and correlation between Spin/apex and Run distance…
SC4 is not worthy to buy… Just waste money and time…
Are you using the unit with the latest software version and if so which version ?
How is this for the wedges, is it close to ball park ? and is there a limit from the device it will not register for wedges, like 20 – 50 yards.
Even SC200 Plus ($300)-iron numbers are spot on. Only downside is driver/3 wood maybe slightly off but ball speed tells how far you are hitting it on average anyway.
I have the SC4 that I’ve only used on the range. It is consistent, but I feel the driver is showing the club speed lower. I have set it to show total distance. I would love you to do a video on your swing, it’s superb. You generate great cub head speed with what looks like a very controlled swing.
It's worth noting the SC4 does not read spin axis or side spin. So although you can play indoor golf it's not realistic, it will only shoot straight shots.
They just brought out the SC4 Pro version that does just that so new buyers should go for hat one !
How good is it indoors since most of my practice is indoors are in my garage versus outside.
WoW some pretty good shots! Thanks for the heads up. Appreciate you sharing your valuable information!
I love the SC4. It punches above its weight class for sure
