Video Description

Golf in Aiken, South Carolina has long been overshadowed by a certain club in Augusta, Georgia. But the growth of quality courses in the area now gives visiting golfers more options than ever around The Masters.

Old Barnwell, Palmetto, and The Tree Farm are private clubs offering public tee times the first two weeks of April. Aiken Golf Club is a locally loved public course. And exciting projects like New Holland and 21 Club are on the way.

Unlike their famous neighbor, these clubs feature few rules and a relaxed atmosphere. Instead of lush, green fairways, they embrace their sandy sites with firm conditions. New traditions are being built at the new clubs, but there’s a significant golf history in Aiken.

In this Destination GOLF feature, we highlight the Evans caddie scholarship program, Aiken First Tee, and impact of a growing golf culture on a community. Thanks for watching!
