Ed Reed is one of the greatest safeties in NFL history. But hand him a driver and it’s a different story.
Thin shots, fat shots, and a slice that wouldn’t quit with every long club in the bag. So we brought him in front of Performance Golf coach JT Thomas to see if his “root flaw” theory could fix an NFL legend’s swing in under an hour. What JT found in three swings is the same thing wrecking most weekend golfers with their driver and long clubs. Once you see it, you’ll never unsee it in your own swing.
What JT Found:
Before Ed hit a single ball, JT asked two questions. From the answers alone, he already had a theory. Three swings later it was confirmed. Ed’s chest was racing ahead of his hips at the top of the backswing, killing his low point and destroying his path. With a wedge you can survive it. With a driver or 3-wood it wrecks every shot. The fix was one feeling, not a checklist. Three swings later Ed flushed a high draw. Then JT handed him the 3-wood he hated most and the same feeling worked again.
