Video Description

Every October, caddies from some of the most storied golf clubs on the East End of Long Island come together for something special: a tournament built entirely around the people who carry the bags.

The Berkeley Cup started in 2001 to honor Michael J. Berkeley, a member of the Atlantic Golf Club who was killed on September 11th.

The tournament he inspired brings together caddies from Atlantic, The Bridge, East Hampton, Friar’s Head, Maidstone, National Golf Links, Noyac, Sebonack, Shinnecock, and Westhampton to compete in stroke play with real stakes: the winning team earns scholarships through the Michael J. Berkeley Foundation.
