The Drop welcomes Alex Smalley to the show, as the PGA Championship runner-up prepares to make his return to action at this week’s Charles Schwab Challenge. He talks about how he preps for tournaments, his goals for the year and using his finish at the last major to propel his game forward. The next major on the schedule is the U.S. Open, and our co-host Matt Every played in a local qualifier to try and make his way into the national championship at Shinnecock. Our cameras were there to document his round. Someone who has already advanced to final qualifying is University of Virginia senior Ben James, who also sits atop the PGA TOUR University leaderboard and will turn pro imminently. But first, he and his teammates will try to succeed at this week’s NCAA Tournament finals. We visited campus to visit him and his team as their season winds down to its exciting finish.
