I was playing my best golf 6-8 months ago and I was working on similar things, staying wide in the L to L positions. This is a timely video because I am on the struggle bus, as I had forgotten about this. He is a good instructor, efficient and uncomplicated.

What was that training device that Chris had you use?

Ok I’m confused. I thought the teaching world had gotten away from this locked left arm business. Are you doing this for this student only or is this one of your core principles? Locked left arm or no?

I’ve been playing this game for roughly 10 years and still not consistent with anything. Driver, Irons, or Wedges. Been years since I broke 90…

My golf instructor taught me this technique just last week and has made a world of difference.

MSG has one of the smoothest most controlled swings I’ve seen and he still thinks it needs to be fixed. I am doomed in this game 😅

I'm not even an instructor and can fix your swing as it is very easy to see what you are doing wrong. The clubs are too long so as you age and lose flexibility they force you to be too far from the ball. Stand upright more which brings you closer to the ball, lean left more and bring right shoulder back 1" or so to realign your hips. Don't go past 9:3010:00 swing if you can help it as the club gets too much towards 90 degrees to your left forearm which at this point is too much for you.

I would have you shorten your swing until you could hit it straight. The challenge as you age is it gets harder to sequence. Once you find your sequence you can add length back in gradually.

Just try to avoid getting tooo long. Length is useless if you can't return the face back to impact.

From behind your swing after using the bands looks like the DOD King. He has that very wide and short Arc but is a pretty good iron striker so I would say it’s a good thing.

I had the same issues, my arms were collapsing at the top. Was great when I timed it right but 2 way miss when I didn't. The longer the club the worse it got.

I want to say that it is quite refreshing to see someone so willing to expose their own shortcomings in their chosen field. We so often look at these YouTube hosts as the professional with all of the answers. To see you reaching out for help gives the rest of us hacks hope. Thanks! Keep up the good work!

Wait a minute . All these years you bamboozled us in thinking you knew how to hit a golf ball . Snap hooks and slices . What’s going on here ?

have you experimented with some heavier shafts and see if it helps the "loop" at the top?

Great lesson. Stick with that and you are well on your way. Shot shape predictability is something we all strive for and none of this was too technical. Pair that with a solid short game and that's just fun boring golf. Chris should definitely be ranked much lower than 43.

That was a great lesson. I felt like I was there and half way through I got out a stretch band and swung along. Can't wait to hit some balls tomorrow.

I literally just went through the same bit of change, needing to keep my lead arm straight. Now I pull left because my grip is too strong as my miss. So I have to adjust that. I used Chatgpt though lol.

I love how he said he doesn't want to mess with the grip in the first lesson. Every instructor I have been to, that is first thing they try to change.

Can I ask, at 9.53 and 9.54 would you say that your teachers example of backswing indicates a swing that’s goes inside. Most bloody teachers that I’ve had state, tale club back in straight line more or less and elevate them… now my club is in a completely different area to his and yours when you do his method.
