The victory propels Kaneko to a career-high 101st in the Official World Golf Ranking and makes him the first Japanese player to win Austria’s national open.

The European Swing continues this week as the DP World Tour heads to a new venue for the Austrian Alpine Open presented by Kitzbühel Tirol. Ryder Cup hero Sepp Straka will tee it up on home soil for the first time since 2018, leading a host of Austrian stars looking to delight the home fans. Since that appearance at the Shot Clock Masters, Straka has gone on to become the first Austrian to win on the PGA TOUR, taking his tally of wins on that circuit to four and twice win the Ryder Cup but he is searching for a maiden DP World Tour title. This week we head to a third first-time host in five events as Golfclub Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith becomes the 465th venue to stage a DP World Tour event. Joining the field this week are players like Casey Jarvis, Kipp Popert and reigning champion Nicolai von Dellingshausen.
