In addition to the Travel Rod, I like to use a 5 gallon bucket to cover the entire club portion of the travel bag. Baggage handlers tend to have the golf bags at the bottom of the pile of luggage, so the bucket will help keeping the weight off the clubs.

Could you not just use a hard club travel bag? Expensive option I would imagine. Where is the cap case from, Chris?

If you are travelling for several days pack your socks in the travel bag with one on each iron head. Stuff the rest of your clothes in there strategically as well. Or line the iron head up and tape them together.

i just got back from a travel golf trip by airline and i used a samsonite hard case and it worked perfect, i removed the driver cover and stuffed it with golf shoes and clothes and made it just under the 50lbs. i didnt need the stabilizer stick due to the case and the golf bag straps down inside so it doesnt move. i like the sticker idea to identify it because it is currently plain and was worried about getting mixed up.
