So I played Rugby Union at a decent amateur level and it took me all over the world. Since I stopped playing rugby I am just not pushing myself the same at 53 year old. Over the last 2 years been starting to really get into golf and now starting to push my body again. Golf can now be used to keep you fit strong flexible as you get older. This not only improves golf but quality of life. So come on Mr Crossfield let’s go for it and see if you can inspire people to get fit for golf and life. Good luck Sir 👍

Tour pros live to compete, average professional golfers don't. They are too busy trying to make a living. Imagine if money was never an issue and all you wanted to do was to tee it up with the best to try and beat them!

I dont think you can get to 180. 175-176 is doable. Im 50yo, two years ago I hit 107 club/157 ball, now my top end is 120/174. But I am much bigger and stronger than you. Your technique is maxed out and you have done speed training. Added strength + mobility could get 5mph for you, but 180 ball is bit of a stretch. Hope you get it though! But my goal is to stay ahead of you. 😅

I've enjoyed your previous series of trying to gain yardage…but this is a bit strange… You don't want the travel. I'm not sure having the "specifications" are the same as being a champions or legends tour player. Enjoy getting in great stretching and strength status. Even nothing else this is going to be good for your body. Maybe the goal should be Sr US and Open qualifying.

This quest for speed you’ve been on for a few years now has been so interesting. I had a year off due to a broken shoulder and I got back in the gym for like a solid 13 months and hardly swung a club. When I come back my ball speeds rocketed, I’m surprised you’ve not gone all beef cake sooner brah 💪 good luck. You are the only one who talks sense and doesn’t pander to everyone.😂

Do you really need another 20yds? I know it means two less clubs for your approach but what's the average swing speed on the senior tour?
It can't be much more than you've already got.
Surely you need to sharpen up your short game and focus more on every shot?

Looking forward to it. Maybe get fit for new shafts….I’ve heard they are what holds most golfers back 😂. I went to a Champion event here in St. Louis, Thomas Bjorn won…he looks like he drives by a gym once, maybe twice a year.

God, please don’t be one of those YouTube influencers who videos their actual games. How is that fair on other golfers actually trying to qualify, not other agenda like monetising a YouTube channel, eg Hannah Holden, James Wiltshire, Peter Finch, even Rick Shiels did one. Why do organisers allow that?

Good to make goals but you can never beat AGE. If you were not good enough to make the tour when younger it is just a dream to think you can do it when much older sadly just click chasing.

I don't know your game well enough or the seniors' tour level well enough, but I reckon you can make it. imo drop the cope of I'll show you why I'm not good enough, and have a serious crack, hit the gym, drink the whey, eat the chicken rice and broccoli and have fun.

Mark, why do you feel you need to get to 180 to compete on Seniors tour? Only Harrington can get near this. The average ball speed is 155mph which you are already well over. Wouldn’t it be better to just work on your consistency and dispersion in all other areas of your game?

  34. @andrewlaw8121

Well done mark. You say you don’t care but maybe long the way you find you actually do… Boxer run at 5am and do road work not just for fitness but it’s a test of will and determination knowing your opponent is running that much further and faster. If you push through the bits you don’t enjoy, you my find you feel the same
