I have been watching pro golf on TV for 60 years starting with my dad when I was a teenager in the 1960s. With modern equipment and the ball, pro golf on TV has become BORING! Driver, 9-iron. Driver, wedge. The shot values we saw with Palmer and Nicklaus in their eras have gone away. When's the last time you saw someone hit a driver and 4 or 5-iron into a par 4? And today's pros take way too much time putting!

I think CBS brought up pace of play on Saturday cause they were upset at the field they got. The final group took 5 hours and 29 minutes to finish. They still had 20 min to spare and they were crying. They needed the superstars to show up. A lot of them didnt due to Genesis being back at Torrey 3 weeks later. Pace of play may be an issue with rounds taking 6 hours to finish cause of the celebrities.

Implement something that speeds up pace of play. More shots per minute would improve the broadcast.
