I watch these iron reviews and iron comparisons but yet I still can’t see past my 2016 cobra fly z+ irons with there ksb 120g shafts forged head and face with a very blade looking head shaft but with a nice small cavity pocket. Should pick up a set for a review you will love them !
i’ve tried takomos, and they honestly belong in a goodwill. couldn’t pay me to use them again. the zx7’s are tremendous irons, but ended up back in my pings.
New blueprints S & T are the best .. well they were for me , most forgiving blade looking for me
Hasn't he done this video like 4 different times.
Great review Peter!
If it's down to the looks v performance, it's a no brainer. Only snobs would go for looks over performance.
I'm still gaming the original ZX7's just because of the looks. I don't hate the MK II's, but I love the angular look of the previous model.
Problem with takomo irons is it's limited to KBS shafts only
I bought the 301 CBs when I was at a 12 handicap. My current low is 6.6, playing off a 7.0 right now. I think your review is spot on. They feel great out the middle but REALLY punish you out the toe (my general miss). I lose 10 to 15 yards when I hit the ball out the toe. I'm really looking forward to next year, where I plan to buy some forgiving irons in the players irons category. I think that the Takomo's unforgivingness has made me a better ball striker but I am really excited for a club that doesn't punish me as much when I "upgrade"
The ZX7 is probably the most underrated player’s iron out there, but the top line is horrendous. To describe it as looking “bladey” at address is baffling
9:40 you would expect more Ballspeed with longer shaft, not so much loft, wouldn't you?
Would love ta have you on the channel… Those Takomos take the cake for the best bag appeal
Wow the wilson staff blades didn't even get a look in
i wish the Takoma had other shaft options
the P7MCs look so much better than the P7CBs imo
That’s all good but T100 is still the answer and reigns supreme
Srixon have the best irons love my 5s
New srixon irons coming soon👀
I’m probably in the minority here, but I could care less what my clubs look like.
My main objective is to hit them well.
I have a friend who is all about the looks of his clubs so he owns super slick blades that he can’t hit for shit.
I think the quality of shot is way more impressive than the quality of club you are using.
This videoed at Reddish Vale?
The only reason why Tacomo is compelling is pure price.
The Srixons looks and feels amazing, guess that personal preference. New zx7s also look stunning too, give those a try when they are released
Yea the Takomo's are cheaper right now, until the bill is due on all these Youtube creators deals needing to be paid. And then they will just be as much as any other club I'm sure.
I assume the creators with Takomo have been fitted to them unlike the general public.
Love the reviews, I went from Taylormade p790 to p7mc’s myself and just love them. Great feedback from the club and milling allows for precise shaping. Blades scared me before but now I can’t go back!
the new taylormade p7 cbs are so accurate and got the distance ! plus 1 now after gettting them
The Takoma 301s aren't really meant for low handicappers. The 101 or 101ts are more for the lower handicap. Forgiving and distance.
LOVE my Srixon ZX7 MKII. Third set of Srixon irons Ive had. Waiting on the new ones, coming out in JAN. You have the best feedback when you hit the ball. When its hit pure, all you watch is a tiny white dot screaming off towards the flag.
Takomo 201 would be a better choice for comparison.
Love my ZX7s. Went into fitting looking at mizunos and titleist, never would’ve thought I came out with them
Thought I was not seeing things, not even an equal price match as the Takomo offered an extra iron going from 4I to PW so they are at least half the price – wow
Blueprint S is absent. Hmmm
Peter, been watching your videos for years. You haven’t changed and yet the channel has evolved. Great job balancing that. 👍🏻
New Level 480-MC’s. Your welcome
I would love to see the Kiwi guys on the channel.
I'm in the Mizuno Pro 243's
If you want more height distance and spin and landing angle then nothing at the moment can touch them
They're Mizuno too so feel is a given
Turf interaction is superb with the graduated bounce through the set
They needed to be in this test
Takomo 301 cb are the real deal! I’m a 6 handicap and these irons will do it all for $650 brand new out of the box. Can’t beat it.
I have the zx5 mkII black edition and i love them. Great all around. Now i just need to make them into a combo set with the zx7 lol
Srixons look great,to me👍
I don’t understand why golfers care at all about club aesthetics and sound.
Surely the only things that matter are performance based?
I just don’t understand as a new player why it’s ever mentioned in reviews when it’s ultimately a tool to helps enable the next shot or place the ball in the hole🤷🏼♂️
"We're not looking at scratch golfers or better, that might be the province of a blade or muscleback." Really? Because just about all the Srixon players on tour besides Hideki (who plays the z-forged blade), use the zx7s and even zx5s in the longer irons. The amount of players using a forged cavity-back regardless of brand is way more than it used to be. I know that pros have their clubs tweaked to their swing, but they are professionals, they are going to use the clubs that get them closer to the winner's circle.
Something to look at is the fact that the takomos after shipping and tax could be around 750$, yes this is for a brand new club, but it’s much harder to find them used than srixon or tm, can find zx7 for 4-500 and zx7 mkii for 5-600 used. But still yes take into account new vs used clubs
These names are too long …
We need to see a review of the srixon ZXi7 irons from Pete. I think they have become the players iron to beat this year.
Takomos are trash, inconsistent lofts and lies and so soft they dent from minor impacts. The ZX7 mkII and the ZXi7 from Srixon are worlds better, they aren’t on the same planet.
