This was really useful. I'm getting over lead wrist tendinitis and I need these better quality mats.

SigPro Softy by The Indoor Golf Shop is the best hitting mat on the market

The Fiberbuilt with the gel pad is exactly how you guys describe it. Question: what enclosure and screen are you using / recommend without space restrictions?

You can also build a hitting strip with plexiglass. It will help with shock absorption. Very cheap option if you dont have the money for these mats.

@golficity. Any chance at a giveaway for the mats you aren’t using? I’m looking to build a small home setup using a net and the rapsodo mlm I won as a door prize a few years back with you guys. I’m localish in north jersey. Thanks for the great content! Cheers boys!

This is an excellent overview of the Fiberbuilt products. I would love to see you go in this depth with the SigPro mats as well.

2 things I notice, my elbow doesn’t hurt because there is some give with the hitting strip. Second, when I hit at the range before a round, I notice myself getting away with fat shots because of how firm those mats are which bounce the club back up to the ball. The fiberbuilt is great because the hitting strip has give like real grass.

Do you always dress in the shorts, polo, baseball cap golfing uniform? Like all year? Whatever the situation? Do you rock up to a wedding in that? Jokes … this whole golfing uniform does amuse me tho …

    For the grass one,
is it possible to add another strip of grass and make it a wider grass/hitting area?

Are you able to add 2 grass hitting matt and act as one wide hitting area?

As fast as this industry is growing, I'm surprised that very little mats have rough and sand add-ons or attachments. Are these types of mats not available? Can you do reviews on these for a more immersive sim?

Great video! Where did you get the putting green matt with fringe? I'd love to add that to my sim build!!

A couple things just to note. Not taking tee's is fine, Bir-tee solves that problem and offers a much better experience. We also have to get rid of the constant focus on "doesn't feel like real grass" from the peanut gallery, of course it doesn't. Mats are so darn important for heavily used indoor setups. Fiberbuilt is going about it right with the focus on taking away the force to protect joints, which is precisely what is happening when you take a divot outside. It's a breaking mechanism. And lastly, for those of you with significant joint issues, give a coach a call and you'll be surprised what correct swing mechanics can solve. A hitting mat with a large price tag helps for sure, but it won't solve joint issues.

Can’t you just add padding or cushion underneath like gym mats?

You should send the extra mats to some of your subscribers. 😅

I have had the Country Club Elite golf mat since 2019 and like it. It sits out side and looks like new and doesn’t show its usage. It’s the best on the market. The price point is high, but you get what you pay for

Had a motivo last couple years. Big indents and actually ripped part where my feet are.

Thoughts on sigpro softly vs true strike vs. What you guys showed here?

I'm in the process of building my inhome golf simulator. I was told don't cheap yourself on the mat. Just like you said, it's not the most appealing part of the sim, but might be the most important part. I bought a fiberbuilt mat after using it over and over at GOLFTEC.

The problem with any mat purchase is if you dont like it you either can't return it at all (looking at you Bullseye) or there is a massive restocking fee plus return shipping. I have a swingturf 5×5 and I dont know if I like it. I want to send it back, but would be out 20% plus return shipping. If I try the fiberbuilt its the same way – 20% on $1200 is a lot

Come on we all no none of us would buy any of the others except the last one especially when we are golf sickos lol I bet i could modify it to use regular tees in it.

No one besides YT creators can "find the best for you". Nice to claim, but no way I am buying $5k worth of mats and shipping charges to try them out. If I go with fiber built it would be the "base" one mostly because I can hit anywhere. Don't have enough room to hit from dead center of room.

Jokes on you, I’m a technician. Good mats are probably the coolest part of the whole ordeal, other than the monitor. So much tech to just feel like dirt and grass.

New to this and in the process of renovating a room that’s going to be for a simulator. Ive watched so many of your videos and have a question. I’ve never seen a lot of talk about the putting mat in front of the screen. Which one is being used in this video? Ideally I’d like the putting mat and striking mat to be the same height obviously. Planning on buying the underlie eye xo2 and would like the hitting ng mat to have striking turf in center for both left and right handed shooters. Would also like a hitting strip with built in tee and are there any that have multiple terrains? Bunker shots etc. what can you recommend?
