Ever wonder how the pros start their downswing so smoothly and powerfully? It all comes down to the hip and the grip working in perfect sync.
In this video, I’ll break down the 3 keys to starting your downswing like a Tour player:
1️⃣ How to use hand speed from the top to get your trail elbow in front of the body
2️⃣ Why the hip and grip fire together for maximum control and consistency
3️⃣ The “skip the rock” feel to lead with the elbow and shallow the club naturally
This is one of the most misunderstood moves in the swing. Learn how to start your downswing like a pro and instantly feel the difference in your ball striking.

I love how yall always teach the same things and I still find myself coming back to these videos, like the “washer” downswing and chest pointing back as you fire your hands and hips… stay classy!
He asked the question I always struggle with… hips then arms, arms then hips, all at once…golf is hard. I do remember this though Porzac… break the glass, then everything goes. I hit it so well with the pump drill, then I BLOW IT when I go full swing.
The club sliding through the washer reminds me of an old swing training device my brother may have had back in the day (I think it might have been called the kallassy swing magic). For the hands hip downswing combo do we want to feel something like the left (lead) hip pulling back behind us where it feels like the left hip pulls backward from above the left knee and foot where the hip is moving above the heel, and the left hand/butt of the grip pulls down underneath our shoulders with the butt of the club hammering into a wall just ahead of our lead leg in some cases? Or is there another way you'd describe the sensation of the hands and hips moving on the downswing?
I love it,,,, keeper simple.
Even an 80-year-old man can do that.
👏👏👏👍💪💯
When are you gonna be in Charleston?
I finally found a Adam video that my brain doesn’t directly connect with.
Maybe this is a little too advanced for me
Great video adam, I really like the question about when to move the hands. I enjoy watching Milo Lines rotary swing concept and yours. What I like about Milo's rotary swing is that I don't really think about my arms/hands because they slingshot back at the ball due to the rotatation. But When i do look at my films, I do notice my hands/arms do get a tiny bit stuck. I guess the questions is when do you pull those hands/arms as they're being slingshotted across your chest?
This was a very good video.
Pros like 100% of tour pros start their downswing float loading or hingeing wrists/increasing lag. They tell they do this with proper sequencing but the float load to them is natural. 95% of rest of us cast at top and our first move decreasing wrist angle and unloading lag so y the time we get handso. Trail thigh the shaft is almost in line with arms where the PGA Pro the shaft is parallel with the ground. A good drill for this is to literally try to slam the shaft into your trail deltoid coming down from the top is your first move and practice this over and over and over again, so you get an exaggerating feeling of improving your lag or your wrist angle coming down you’re obviously not gonna do that when you really hit the ball but it’ll give you the feeling you need to actually make a float load move. Basically, we have to consciously change what comes naturally in a PGA pro to make it work in our swings until it does become natural. You need to be teaching this.
多謝您!这是單平面揮桿、比双平面易學一些?
Been doing a Kiawah family vacation for last 20 years. If you get a chance to go to the clinic I highly suggest it. Great place 🤌
hunter mahan release
I've tried the hip and grip before but I always felt like something was slightly off but this was so clearly explained, especially with the club trailing down the right arm. It made something click. As always, love the videos and will definitely make it out to one of the clinics one of these days!
How good is the Porzak content and his teaching.
What going on when my shots are struck well but “pulls” I feel like starting with arms causes this action across ball
