Video Description
This is why you struggle to strike your irons pure and make solid contact 👇
1. Your sternum is not positioned correctly at address
2. Your forearms are not in line at set up – BIG ONE
3. Your posture is misaligned at set up
4. You don’t transfer your weight naturally in the golf swing
5. and one cool little trick that makes your golf swing effortless
What’s great is if you have any one of these faults in your golf swing they are really easy to fix and can make an instant impact on the quality of your ball striking not just with your irons but with your driver too.
For example if you want to hit your driver straight just getting the forearms aligned at address will be a real eye opener for you.

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight. If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.
I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.
We look at 3 things:
1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver
and I hope to do all this with simple golf tips so you can create an effortless golf swing

Danny, great video. I learned a few years back that if I focus on the ball I develop a "hit" instinct, which was terrible for my swing. What I taught myself to do was to NOT look at the ball after I set the clubface behind it. Since the ball is not moving, it will always be there when the clubface arrives. I've always had great hand-eye coordination, so this works best for me. Cheers.
Thank you again for another great video and how to take something as complicated as the golf swing and put in it in such simple terms that even I can understand it. Great job!!
Your tip where I imagine throwing a ball forward really helped, at least so far with my 9 iron and my whiffle balls in my backyard last night. I went from constantly slicing and being inconsistent to constant straight shots (except for here and there when I know old habits took over with my swing). Really really helpful, thank you! I then tried with a 6 iron but need to work that feeling out first as I was still slicing, but I think I'll get it worked out with some more practice tonight. Thanks again!
Thank you Danny, I really needed to hear this. Free my mind keep it simple
Danny, I have watched a lot of your videos. And I have watched a lot of other videos on a lot of other content creators. But this one just today completely changed my game. It was unbelievable. I have been trying to hit the ball for five years since I took up golf during Covid. Using my shoulders, arms and a tight grip to try to control the ball flight. I was able to get below 90 but it was just so much work all the time. Today after just this one video I finally realized all that I was doing wrong without using the momentum of the clubhead to do the work for me. Every shot was 10 to 15 yards further effortlessly. Thank you so much. Keep up the great work.
Great video once again, but the subtitles sometimes blocks the view….
Terrible instruction are u sure your a pro
Love these vids mate! Cheers from NZ
I dont know if you will see this, but this video (after watching it 3-4 times, and a lot of other videos) made me finally understand the feel of striking the ball. Thank you for this and other awesome videos!
Excellent stuff 😉 Thanks.
Can you show this with Driver as you mentioned ? It would be good to incorporate the "push/pull" from a previous video in Dubai..
Danny, you are a GENIUS!!! What a GREAT video👍
PURE GOLD Danny! You are a BEAST! The target focus point was brilliant!! 🔥💯💥
I am dumbfounded, this guy explains things better then anyone I have ever seen. Not to mention his swing just seems so effortless.
OMG! This is EXACTLY what I needed to hear!!!! Fixed my targeting and feels amazing!
Well i've tried all the drills Danny has shown the one that helped most was the push pull with the alighnment stick between the legs. The drop down feels good too but when i put all together no matter how good the position of the club I can somehow make it get steep and dig in fat or hit it thin with irons i check my position ,swing in slow mo everything looks and feels fine ,my club comes straight down in front of my centres but when i turn all goes freakin crazy .Diver works very well but irons will be the death of me.Ive seen others vids that say i can turn as hard as i want once the club is in front of me and not hit it fat lol i beg to differ.
Gold
I believe this video has created my aha moment when you were talking about the movement of the rib cages in the swing
Visuals are so crucial! I found that a lot of my issues on the course come from me hyper focusing on the club face.
When I see that "square face", my mind start to do weird things. The easiest fix to avoid this, was to practice swing.
It's clear as day that all the pro's and great golfers do the same thing prior to hitting. Couple practice swings, sometimes even watching the club face as they do so just to get the visual of it squaring at impact.
Ive been away from the game for several yrs. Just recently started playing again. I was a low handicap when I stopped now, Im around a 15. My driver and consistency striking the ball need the most improvement. When I stopped, I was compressing the ball and capable of shaping my shots. This guys videos are top-notch. They are bringing everything back to me. I loved the video where he moved the ball back in his driver stance. Genius. New sub here.
Somehow I find the advice confusing.
The first one on aligning sternum with the ball should only be valid for shorter irons, shouldn't it? For longer irons the ball moves forward and you don't lean towards it. And it sound somewhat trivial anyway, something you learn on day 1, unless I'm missing something.
The second one on effortless swing is dubious even theoretically: the club moves naturally in whatever way you're used too. So when someone wants to fix their swing, it means they already learned something wrong and this feels natural to them, even if it means compensating where it's not needed anymore because of the correct body movement.
Also the third one is interesting: is it just me who can't think about any target anymore during the downswing? I happens in a split second, it's only reflexes at this point. I assume you first think on how your shot needs to go, set for this up and then execute without thinking anymore.
Amazing analogy about throwing the ball and bouncing over the target. Just tried this and make amazing contact. Sometimes you just need something to relate to for the golf swing to click. Hopefully this translates on the course. 😂
Taking these pointers to the range today. Thank you
It's all practice hit 10000 balls
I hate this game , it’s impossible
1. Understand Ball Striking: Great ball striking occurs when you hit the ball first, then the turf. Aim for a natural downward angle of attack.
2. Proper Setup: Position your sternum over the ball at setup. This alignment increases the likelihood of striking the ball before the ground.
3. Handle Position: Start with a slight lean of the shaft towards your lead leg. This helps create a solid foundation for your swing.
4. Effortless Swing: Focus on swinging the club with momentum rather than forcing angles. An effortless swing leads to better strikes.
5. Body Movement: Use your rib cage to control the swing. This promotes natural club movement and helps maintain speed.
6. Avoid Flicking: Ensure your body moves correctly to prevent flicking the club. A proper body pivot creates lag and improves strike quality.
7. Passive Wrists: Allow your wrists to bend naturally during the swing. This passive action contributes to a better strike without forcing angles.
8. Target Focus: Identify your target beyond the ball. Focusing on the target helps direct your swing and improves mechanics.
9. Merge Targets: Practice merging your focus on the ball and your target. This dual focus enhances your swing dynamics.
10. Bounce Exercise: Use a ball to practice bouncing it ahead of your target. This exercise reinforces the connection between downward pressure and forward momentum.
11. Start Small: Begin with small swings to develop the feeling of momentum and proper striking before gradually increasing the swing size.
12. Practice Consistently: Regular practice of these techniques will lead to improved consistency in striking your irons and fairway woods.
interessante grazie
Will this process also work with rescue clubs, fairway woods and driver. Thank you
Very helpful Danny. Focusing only on "spinning my right hand down" was just not working.
The feeling like you're stepping into the strike, unfortunately none of this prevents me from chunking on the course, despite what may work on the range
I tried that but starting lifting my head (step 3) and consistently topping the ball.
Superb instruction yet again, many thanks Danny 😍
Realy top pro.😮
The word effortlessly, naturally and with momentum were key to me. I’ve hit so many fat and topped shots lately I almost gave up the game. Rib cage rotation, ball placement and targets guidance also were key to your helping me understand once more how to hit a golf ball. I’m old (81) and had gotten very wristy over the last few months. My sequence was: bad shot, swing harder; swing harder, worse shot; worse shot, swing harder; …. It was awful, of course. Trying to “self-correct” did nothing to make things better and I thought that age had finally caught up with me and regardless of the fact I’m in good health and shape, maybe it is time to give the bag and clubs away. But, I found your video. Yesterday, going to the range and following your methods, I reconnected with hitting good (many real good) shots. Damn, that felt good. Today, with my notes in hand, it’s range again, then play tomorrow with buddies. Maybe I can shoot my age again a few times. Thank you.
I love your video. I have a question for you if you can show a way to where I can use my swing because I had two surgeries on my left wrist Where all four of my bones were fused it will not allow me to bend my left wrist and I noticed your video you are bending your wrist a little I can’t bend it at all. Do you have something for me that I can use to hit the ball better?
i've only been playing for 1 month and Danny has been god sent. he is such a great instructor.
Should I think about my right foot turning, or just let it happen? Thanks
Set up(center sternum+shaft lean)=>coil and uncoil=>bounce a ball down the target line! Got it. 😎 Danny’s Purity Ptotocol
I just finished playing 9 holes this afternoon, I averaged about 39 curses per hole, decided if I am to go to heaven, better try to find an answer to my $%&$% slice. This guy appears to have some good ideas, he may be the one to get me to heaven, or should I just quit playing, hm.
Totally agree. Every Hall of Fame golf player has always said you should swing upwards at the golf ball. You are the GOAT of instructors.
No matter how many videos I watch I still can’t hit the ball consistently. The contact point is a pure chance it seems
any advice for somone that has both wrists fused solid? no flexion or extension ability. I'm currently a 7 HCP, but it's mainly based off my game that's within 100 yards and putting is better; than any club longer than my wedges. I've yet to find an answer for this from any instructor or content creator. just wish I could flush my irons to their full loft capabilities by compressing the ball properly.
Great lesson.
Danny, I’m so grateful for your lessons! I keep trying to subscribe but when I click on the red “subscribe” arrow, nothing happens! Please advise!
Thanks
You are priceless!! Thank you!
