The hitting with your trail shoulder is a really good mental image introducing proper shoulder turn.

I use it constantly with driving as well!

Oh! Yeah. I'm gripping then leaning the club. This makes way more sense.

Excellent tips! The first tip on set up was incredible! Rarely do we get both the how and why. Details matter!!!

When it said ‘3 iron tips’ at the start – I assumed the video was going to be about ditching long irons for hybrids!

Like that you keep doing the inseam-to-inseam feet wiggle. I never got that until recently, that 'dynamic address' idea you promoted in older videos, but it strangely helps me to feel better where to apply some ground pressure during the swing.

Great video. I don’t know why, but I’m putting Footjoy size 11. Is there a contest or something I missed?

Have to say, I’m a novice on the best of days but my improvement just using your techniques the past month or so has drastically improved my accuracy. You instruct in such a relaxed and relatable way that I feel it’s ok to have off days as long as we remember the basics. Well deserved sub

it's the same if you play with 'game improver' irons. If they have a large sole – like a Ping G15 say – put that sole flat on the ground and you will find the shaft intentionally leans forward for the same reason Mark describes here. I've lost count of the number of players I see who have clubs designed to help them who are actually working against their clubs!

The easiest way is to set shaft lean is to hold the club in the right hand
Place the fave square behind the ball. If it’s 7i, then step you right foot in-line with the ball
Lean the shaft towards your left belt loop
Let your left hand naturally hang & take grip
Now let you right hand hang & take grip

Thanks Marc, I’m certainly going to try these tips out. I would like to add one important thing though that I found to be very important for more precise shots. As a beginner golfer I’m very focussed on all the technique. Aiming, looking, picturing the ball flight tends to get in the background. I now started to shift this around when I play a round: quick check on gripp, stance, ball position when making practice swing. Than totally commit to the aiming and letting go of all other thoughts. Hope to learn more from you about the ‘aiming’.

Any tips for someone whose stock swing tends to end up as your ‘stunted swing’? 😬 I need the opposite of tip 3 🫣
