In an annual outing now open to the public, you can play all three courses in a heart-racing one-day event called the Hagen 54. 8AM Travel’s Simon Holt and Angus Rintoul host American golf lovers Alex Holderness and John Bourne, co-founders of the Holderness & Bourne golf apparel brand, for an epic trip across all 54 holes. The follow in the footsteps of Walter Hagen from the 1920s, when the Open champion crossed property lines and fences to create his own routing of some of the UK’s greatest courses.
