My course is only £35 in summer however full membership is £800+. Using a certain golf app it’s possible to get really cheap deals at other courses eg. £16!
Refreshing content Matt as I feel that YouT golfers seem to focus on well-known, expensive courses or ones that non-members can't play…
my only little suggestion would be to enrol a local to play with, for bits of info about the course/area…as well as have a mate to banter with
Got to agree with some of the other comments Matt. £75 not rally budget IMO. Upavon GC might be worth a look.
I belong to a course that's about 5200 yards long. It costs me about $450.00 a year. If I remember right, it's about $28.00 for a round of golf there. Nice little course with great greens.
Carnoustie Burnside course. Unreal
Enjoyable video Matt looking forward to the rest of the series
Go to Kinghorn or Burntisland!
Top meadow £19.00 Monday to Friday including breakfast £12.00 twilight no meal beat that
Matt you defiantly need to go and visit mullion golf club in Cornwall! Great condition course and spectacular views! Peter finch could rate it enough when I watched him play there last year.
Castle Park is my club in Gifford East Lothian, £42 per month and £20 per round for guests! Plays like a semi links with park land style as it is more in land. An unreal course for the price!
You should come to the East Midlands. Many beautiful courses for £25 to £35. Kilworth Springs, Brampton Heath, Rutland Water, Cold Ashby etc, etc. All within half an hour of my house, all Beautiful Characteristic courses & all for less than £40.
Love the videos by the way, I’ll show you round all of them!
i remember playing there on a society day many years ago. In all my years, I have never played in weather anywhere near as bad as it was that day. When we arrived, it was dry, but blowing a gale. As I was on the second hole, the skies opened, and we had heavy rain. The rain soon turned to hail, which was quite sore due to the gale force winds. The hail didn't last too long because it turned to snow. Sure enough, within ten minutes, it turned back to rain, which lasted most of the round. The one positive was that the weather was a great leveller, as the low handicaped players were struggling just as much as the higher handicappers. I really enjoyed watching this video as we didn't get to take in the beauty of the course, and I've often wondered what it would be like on a normal day. I'm now looking forward to the rest of the series. I must go back and play Seahouses again sometime.
Kington Golf Club in Herefordshire. Highest 18 hole course in England. £31 for a summer green fee. Some of the best views you’ll find on a golf course
£45 and you play all top golf clubs in Sweden, like hook GK that is owned by family Edbergs ( Pelle Edberg, European tour player) membership goes for £400 per year, so no, not a very good price, considering. £400 and I can play a club with 36holes as much as I want all year.
Buckpool gc
Me and a friend played this course a couple of weeks ago. Agree with the summary to be honest. Flags need replacing and was a shame to have to skip 3 holes, however the views on the back 9 were stunning. Overall an enjoyable course and for about £28 I've got no complaints
The fact you think £40 is budget, just shows were you YouTubers are at 😂😂😂
Green fee for me is great if its sub £60. Great video, thanks Matt
Yes good golf is the player's pleasure! As you will be sure of that.
Great value, played it last September, the greens were very fast.
This is where I grew up playing golf, sadly I am (just) old enough to remember when it was a 9 hole course and if I being honest it is a great 9 hole course the new 9 are mostly fairly indifferent holes – although if they could ever get a touch more land then there would be seem real potential.
I haven't played Seahouses for probably 30 years, nice to see not much has changed. I am sure 14th was originally the 12th but was always a tough hole. The 15th is definitely one of the greatest short par 3s in England, and when the wind blows very hard… from the drone footage it looks as though they have tarted up the old WW2 concrete observation post by the 15th tee.
Here's some to try, all can be played for under £50.
Cavendish (Buxton)
Garforth
Scarborough South Cliff
Malton and Norton
I agree with other comments that £75 is a touch high – especially if I play with my wife and it becomes £150!
I agree that £75 is too high to be considered "budget". Here in Minnesota (USA) where I live, the average rates (with cart/buggy) at busy public golf courses is $45/£35.75 (weekdays) and $65/£51.75 (weekends) per person. That's the average at very nice golf courses. I work at one (Riverwood National GC/Otsego, MN). The budget golf courses (around here) will cost you $20 less for each (weekday/weekend with cart/buggy). The quality of the golf course will obviously be reflected in that price range but a lot of times they are well kept but just short (by today's standards), might only be a 9-hole course that you play twice or lacking in amenities (small clubhouse, no restaurant, small fleet of golf carts/buggies, etc.). Many times these are also cheaper because they are family owned in rural areas… I love finding and playing those little hidden gems!!
Add Dunstanburgh Castle (£28 to walk 18) to your list of cheap golf courses to play in the UK. (Rick and Guy visited there last fall)…
great series concept. My mark for budget is 50 max.
come and try ogbourne downs in wiltshire, hillside course on chalk ground, played dry all winter, awesome challenge, windy and challenging for a normal members course
£40 is not budget, never mind £75 😮
What a great course that is. But for one even better, at £50 summer green fees, try Reay Golf Club on the north coast of Scotland. Similar feel but even more varied, a historic course redesigned by James Braid in the 1930s. Do the NC500, take your clubs, and take in a couple of 9 holers as well, Durness and Gairloch, all excellent!
Cracking courses down that coastline. Was lucky enough to play Dunstanborough last year. Think you need to work on your Geordie pronunciation however 😂😂
Between £25 and £50 is budget Matt
Have you tried dunstanbourgh Castle or Longhirst Hall both under 40 pound a round.longhirst Hall has two courses a championship and a lakes course
Great idea for a series! If you're down south (when it's dry!) you should try the old course at Billingbear golf club in Wokingham. 9 hole course, but very similar style to this one but arguably in better condition. It has a really fun par 3 course as well.
Top meadow matt one night stay in their hotel 2 rounds of golf evening meal and breakfast next morning £90
Great little series but as others have commented only cheap when it's winter free and the series seems to have disappeared now it's summer. Come on Matt do a summer series as well of well priced courses (less than £50?) worth playing
