I feel Ping drivers deserve some love! Many of their models have been some of the most forgiving for the average player. I think the "G400 is one of the best and is still sought after in the used market.

I will pick 1 i remember i couldn't replace in my bag for 12 years. The mizuno f50 fairway woods. The 3&5 woods were amazing…alot of tournament pro's had it in their bags back then and it was 2005 i think because I bought them for my 40th birthday and I'm 60 now. If you can find them now they will probably be £2 but they were fantastic great ball flight very forgiving for the time and quite long. They brought the f60 out as their next release and I went and bought them only to go back to my f50 that thankfully I hadn't sold. I'm sure better clubs came out during the period I had them but my 5 wood 220 and 3 wood 245 yards were so consistent I just couldn't replace them. In the end I had to they looked like they belonged to a dustbin but I should have got them repainted.

From the late 70s to the early 80s, it was tough to beat Hogan Apex irons. They were outstanding and won their share of Tour events.

Mizuno mp14 “money player” irons have to be on that list…. Just ask tiger…

I still play the OG white/green RBZ 3 wood. One of the best clubs I’ve ever played. Haven’t found anything that performs “better enough” to replace it with

That was excellent hard to disagree with any what about Taylor made r7 the original moveable weight driver

This is a really good modern list. Well done. Possible additions could be the Adams idea pro hybrids. Hogan Apex irons, or the Edge. I’ve had most of these clubs in my bag at one point in time.

    Loved the RB Z line.
As a high handicapper, the Mavrik Max is an honourable mention. I wanted the Paradym AI smoke hybrid to replace it in my bag, but couldn’t. So now I have to sell the Smoke lol.

Tour Edge Exotics CB2 FW longer than most drivers of the time.
Titleist TSI 3 FW long and forgiving
Taylormade 2016 M2 driver long, and straight.
Ping G400 LST driver long and straight.

I have an original Big Bertha 3 Steelhead, a Biggest Big Bertha driver and an original Odyssey White Hot two ball blade. All in good condition. However, I don't use them now. The Biggest Big Bertha was good in its day. I currently use a later Callaway Epic driver, older Callaway Diablo Octane 3 and 5 fairway metals, an old Ping 7 wood, Wilson Fybrid Hybrids (5, 4, 3) which I interchange with fairway woods or irons depending on the golf course, Wilson D9 irons 5 – GW, an old Diawa SRX1 sand wedge I've had for over 30 years and an Odyssey Duel Force Rossie 2 putter again must be 30 years old but in great condition. My bag is a mixture of old and new but enjoyable to play with. All kept in a Sun Mountain cart bag with full length dividers, best bag I've ever had. As a senior golfer originally from England but now living in S E. Asia, I use a golf caddy car because of high heat and humidity

I still have (and occasionally use) the original ping eye (not eye 2) irons 4 iron to SW. Also the Blonde laminate wood woods driver, 3 and 5 wood all wrapped up in an origin white Ping tour bag. Ahh the memories! They are green dot lie, you should borrow them for retro match !

    It’s a new club BUT it’s a unique club

The Callaway Apex UW is also a unicorn club IMO… each edition (17,21,24) can basically replace two clubs at a time and opens up the bag

Most of my bag is clubs from GolfClubs4Cash!

My first set of quality woods were the Macgregor Eye O Matic persimmon ( driver plus 3 and 5 wood).Beautiful clubs, especially when hit out of the screws. Would be on my list, but agree with most of your choices and had a set of Mizuno pro originals, TP9's and TP 11's.

good video and obviously some stuff is personal to the individual player but i always thought for the average mid/high handicapper who struggled with getting his irons in the air with any distance, the original Callaway Big Bertha Irons were a revolution. I gamed them as a single digit handicapper and found the distances were phenomenal apart from when the 7 iron I normally hit 160 suddenly decided to go 190 🤣🤣

I’ve owned many of these and complete agree with much.

I’m more or a traditionalist and it takes a lot for me to change the bag

I still game the ping eye 2 and still use a early 2k version of an Answer that has an insert

The Tommy armour 845 is another iron that deserves a mention that wasn’t one that was adopted by the tour

I feel Callaway owned it for their metal woods as did Taylor made Ti and firesole in their day.

I feel that all modern drivers are kinda the same… you can pretty much pick up anything in the last 5 years and game them.

That said my picks for when I was a lower hdcp player and preferred workability – 975J, TISI, G10, Nike 410, and then the 983 and its derivatives

For the latest? M2 is still one that everyone else based their ‘max’ designs off of.

At about minute 11 you mention the Speedslot of Taylormade. Didn't that technology come from ADAM's golf , (which made brilliant products at the time with the speed slot technology) and were subsequently bought by Taylormade for the SPEEDSLOT technology? Have you tried the ADAMS IDEA Super Hybrid(s) or others in that line, you can still but them today? All in all a very nice video!

Good choices , probably lab putters will be a future one. The og 2016 m2 was a great driver taylormade drivers never been as good as that one.

My only quibble is that I would probably select the Ben Hogan Apex over the Mizuno irons.

Gotta give Adams some credit for TaylorMaded early 2010's success, especially the "Speed Pocket" tech.

Excellent list. I would only slightly alter the Taylor Made Rocketballz to the Stage 2 Rocketballz (which I still use) and switch the Taylor Made M2 you showed to the M2 from the year before when it was symmetrical on the bottom. Keep the rest of the list as is.

I actually still have the tp9s (mp33 are better in my opinion) and the original rtg cleveland wedges.

Not sure whether I should be proud or worried that I still have two of his classic clubs in the bag!
The two ball and the Cleveland wedges are still doing me proud!

Nice list but I would have included the Titleist 975D along with the original AP2s. Mizuno MP14's would also be in the conversation. As far as hybrids go you couldn't overlook the Sonartec or the Adam's pro pnt hybrids

Can't argue with any of those choices. The Ping Eye 2s are amazing irons even today

The Ram Tour Grind muscle-back is still the most beautiful iron. Watson and Price showed what they could do.

  34. @stevebagnall1199

That's a great list. I'd potentially argue MP-14s over TP-9s. Go to any European Tour event in the mid 90s & you'd see them EVERYWHERE. I remember seeing them in Sergio's Cobra bag when he first came on tour. And of course, half of Tiger's '97 set. Also worth debating the Titleist 975D & the V-Steel fairway woods over the RBZ

Mizuno MP-33 still my favorite iron of all time, and i still have a set in my old man’s house in Florida. 💯 agree with Cleveland 588 👍🏼.
TaylorMade V-Steel was great, still have one with an x100 shaft at 42” 😮

I’m still using the great big Bertha…….if it’s not broke…don’t try and fix it. It’s funny to watch someone pull out a $500 driver and slice it into the trees then I pull out a 30 year old driver and send it down the middle 270yards. I would rather be 270 in the middle than 290 in the woods. Still rocking the ping zing 2 irons as well. Again, if it’s not broke….no need to drop thousands on new clubs when you should be spending your money on lessons.

Taylormade V-steel for Fairway woods. Still game the 3 and 5 wood

The BECU pings are a great value. The fairway woods still compete today. I use a newer Titleist driver, but still keep my M2. I put a great Hzrdus red shaft in it. What a great club.

This guy taking the piss? That putter and wedges are beaten to shit, and he's trying to justify they're a great deal at £60? If they were a tenner at a yard sale id think twice

I just picked up 56 and 60 Becu TA 588s, which were carbon copies of the OG Wilson Dynapower wedge. Came in a bag with a 2 ball Odyssey, 3-P Callaway X14s, 4-P Macgregor NVG2s, Big Bertha II driver, VFT Hawk Eye 3 wood and Warbird 7 wood. All mint with a 14 divider cart bag for 80 quid. There’s bargains out there sold by idiots who have no idea what they have.
