OK. So he's the best player on the PGA Tour now. But I'm tired of seeing Scheffler win again. And I think he is too based on what he said recently about basically forgetting about it a half hour after the tournment ends. It doesnt mean anything to him anymore! There are so many deserving other players who would be thilled to win even once!
I'm sorry, but just like an NFL coach, NBA, etc, if you don't have the players and they don't play well, stats and Captains mean zilch.
Another criticism of Scheffler, if you're looking for one, is that from time to time he will try a shot that he really shouldn't. Earlier this season (unfortunately, I don't remember which tournament), he drove his ball into the right-hand rough. To get to the green he would have to go around a tree AND over the water. Predictably, his ball found the water and he made double bogey. We saw it again on Saturday when he tried to get too cute with his short game, put his green-side shot in the bunker and made double bogey. It just isn't worth the risk. You make a bad shot, you should focus on saving par, not try for a miracle birdie.
So Ben 3-putting the last hole to hand Scottie the title filled you with confidence about Ben's rookie debut in a couple of weeks.
Scottie Shuffler (worst footwork in history of golf) should retire and stay home to change diapers full time. That is obviously his true calling.
Fantastic discussion between Lav and Paul. Can't wait to Ryder Cup.
Maybe we could back to a longer pga tour schedule – lol – that’s why the Ryder cup sits on the dates it does – wasn’t long ago that the tour championship ended in Nov –
