Thank you so much for this video. I have a horrible slice and after watching this put my ball a couple inches forward in my setup. The difference when I golfed yesterday was remarkable!! I was hitting straight lasers off the tee almost the entire round!
Now I need to find your chipping and putting advice.😎🙌🏼

Simply amazing, can hardly wait to get out on the drive range again and apply what I've learned.

The best recipe i found for the slice was not coming down so steep….i accomplished this by standing up straighter which in turn changed my swing plain … making it flatter which ALSO helps with the irons… you're welcome…. LOL….

What a GREAT lesson, I can relate as a I do bend my left elbow at the top, do not have much flexibility and I am a big muscle guy… His grip seems to be on the weaker side as well, I am going to try 11-12 O'Clock on the next practice session and will keep in mind to push that lead arm far away from body.

If he's consistent 8 deg right, then adjust the grip (strengthen). That is the only thing I ever change, the grip.

Ball forward in stance plus toe-in equals snap hook, surely???

Nice videos with lots of explaining time. Thanks. You should be the official voice to teach, too much “cluster” available herein… thanks.

The problem with moving the ball too far forward is that the club is now moving outside in with a square to the target face, which will still fade/slice

New to golf. Played my first 2 seta of 9 holes after a dozen ot so range sessions. Driving was woeful. Slicing or topping and missing every fairway unless hetting lucky and that was under 100 yards easy. Watched this video last night and went to range today and these small changes made me actually LOVE hitting the driver. Was hitting straight, longer and that anxiety became excitement. Can't thank you enough. More practice now!

95% of golfers can't hit their drivers straight because the club faces are CONVEX. Trying to hit something straight with a curved club face is STUPID. The entire premise of "gear effect" is ludicrous. The ball is going to rotate to the outside (hook or slice) if you hit it anywhere but dead center on the club face. Get a driver with a flat club face and see the difference. That's also why drivers with CONCAVE club faces are illegal. It's because they would self-correct for mis-hits and spin the ball back toward the center. It's basic physics. It's like trying to have a consistent swing when every club is a different length. Bryson DeChambeau has it right. All his irons and wedges are the same length, based on information from the book "The Golfing Machine" by Homer Kelley. This gives him a "single plane swing" which is MUCH more consistent than with normal clubs.

BTW, I'm 68 years old and started golfing 66 years ago (when I was two years old). I was an "assistant instructor" at the Chicago Tribune Golf School, when I was a child. Tom Walsh (the head instructor and the pro at Westgate Valley Country Club in Chicago) used to put me "on stage" (the instructional platform) to demonstrate proper swing mechanics, when I was three and four years old. So, I've been swinging a club most of my life, until a back injury from an auto accident, in 2008.

Such a great video for figuring out how to solve your slice!

This is so amazing. This live lesson brought up problems with my own swing. My balls always went to the right. I figured my main problem was that I wasn't staying in the same position when I swung (I stood up), but it could be a combo of that and the club face turning outward instead of inwards/keeping straight. Sometimes I find myself overcompensating and hitting the ball too much left, which I would rather have, but I still need to make it straighter. I'm just starting and my average driving range drive is 240-255 yards but inconsistent. With this, I'll try it out again and see if I can hit some straighter, more consistent shots.

Put this into practice at the range today. A few small tweaks and I was driving them 15+ yards further and dead straight (always had a big slice) – TY!

I fixed my slice, but now I pull everything straight left.
I’m not sure which is worse. 😂

Great video. What tee height specifically is best for this ball position/driver swing. 2 3/4 or 3 1/4??

Show more fingers/knuckles on your left hand. Twist that grip. It’ll go straight.

Took up golf again after a few years. Before I stopped my score was around 85-90 (best was 82). I went to the range last year and was hitting the ball ok. Slight slice now and again, but was fine. This year I had a slight stroke (53 yr old), so decided, for exercise, I would take up golf again. I feel I have lost a lot of distance! Been to the range a couple of times, I was hitting fairly straight, but distance was not that good. Need to work on my swing again, so I hope a better swing can give me more distance. I think the distance is caused by the stroke, so I hope I can change my swing to get that distance back.

….and then as soon as you get on the course it gets lost. Happens to me all the time, lol
