YOU ASKED FOR THIS TEST! Full Swing Vs Trackman Vs GC Quad
After a huge response to my initial on course launch monitor test I decided to revisit the whole process with an absolutely flat into breeze perfectly controlled test environment.
Full Swing helped create the scene and I dragged in one of my co hosts on the Dope Stoke Podcast, Chris Ryan, so I could solely focus on the video creation and the data.
Once again we have the Full Swing Kit working alongside the TrackMan with the Foresight Camera based unit adjacent to the ball. As the ball lands I then use a Bushnell laser to mark the land spot that is being spotted by one of the testing assistants.
A fantastic video to create that speaks volumes in terms of the results and is eye opening as it relates to one of the devices. Amazing for Full Swing to provide the environment and thank you to their team for being part of the content and answering my questions.
I know the last time we covered this the #comment section went crazy, I’ll be extremely interested to see how this looks once everyone has digested the results.

What ever happened to the giveaway? I haven't heard of anyone winning it from months and months ago. Maybe I missed it?
This test is really unfair to the Quad. Of course it's numbers will be off when hitting against the wind, it's only measuring initial contact. Would have been more fair to do this test with the wind instead of against. Super biased towards Quad. I see a lot of pros using both a trackman and quad at the same time for obvious reasons. Also it appears from the way that shirts are blowing that this is like 15 mph plus of wind against. That's a significant amount of wind. I suspect it was setup like this on purpose to make the quad look bad.
We didn’t ask for this. We asked for a comparison against the affordable launch monitors for the every day golfer ($1-2K and cheaper). This is just a reskin of the other video – but this time at the “Full Swing” booth? And the viewer is supposed to believe this is truly unbiased?
Great videos. Love watching the customs golf club fittings.
Do you know if the fullswing kit used in the comparison is straight out of the box as is or are there additional settings/updates that have to be done in order to get it to be comparable to trackman?
I bought a Full Swing Kit over a year ago to replace my Flightscope Mevo+ radar unit and haven't looked back. After numerous amounts of research its a great addition to my game. Yes its pricey however the biggest selling point for me was the simplicity ease of use, it has a screen that's easy to read in all weather condition, battery life it awesome compared to what we had before, no need for external power banks makes it perfect for using it on the go, drop it behind your hitting area and start hitting balls, no need for tilt angles etc making set up laborious. My 15 year old son uses the FSK everyday for practice whether it be indoors in the studio or outdoors at the course it quick simple and easy to use. The build quality is robust, quite heavy but i like that, i know that it will stand up to being thrown in the bag or in the truck after practice and it will be ok. Highlight is the addition of clippd Combine which make it more competitive between my Son and i to get good scores. Only negative is I hope the Clippd combine sessions will be able to be auto uploaded to my Clippd account in the future. I like data. Keep the content coming love the videos @trottiegolf
I have a Bushnell LaunchPro and mainly use it for indoor practice. The price point was lower than all these and provides numbers close to the Quad. For me, this was a better option due to limited space I have behind me from a simulator standpoint. This is one advantage for the camera based units is sim set up space.
Good to see the Ful Swing is so close to the trackman.
You put the Quad on the backfoot with that wind, you could add the wind speed to the QUAD, or at least show normalised distances as well on the other 2, it's almost like you want the abuse in the comments 🙂
Why aren't you using the Qi35 fitting head designed for the QUAD, no stickers needed 😁
Did Trackman drop any shots off screen like last time?
As John DeLeon mentioned, he’s not expecting any surprises.
Why? Because they test side by side all the time.
As a manufacturer, if Full Swing wants to separate itself from the two competitors, it’s not going to be by accuracy and it won’t only be by price point.
It will be by the way the company treats its customer when something goes awry.
With the other two companies, when a player deals with a tour rep, it’s easy. We’ll get you another one.
If it’s a consumer that spent their hard earned money, they’ll string you along requiring detailed info, recording data points, and give you every excuse there is so it won’t be sent back.
but how many people get to practice outdoors with PROPER balls…
too bad there is no video demonstrating accuracy of Full Swing INDOORS in restricted flight scenario
Really just feels like a hit piece on foresight. Sort of a weird video for you to put out, I’d trust it about as much as you reviewing a titleist club tbh. Love your content trottie but this feels off. Seen literally dozens of comparison videos and never seen foresight show more than a couple percent difference to trackman, let alone your sponsor.
Also heads up your graphics are completely off. You’re showing ball speed as club speed on fs and club speed as ball speed on trackman. More evidence to this just being a rushed conclusion before it was even filmed. Never seen your content messy like that.
I think you should give one away… to me
Nice try Tottie Diddy – now show us the indoor results. Guess we would not see Tiger sailing a wedge carry 50 yards over the green on the GC or the trackman 😂
Great video and interesting to see how the KIT stacks up against the biggest players in the market! How long will it be before more Tour players are using the KIT over a Quad or TM?
What’s it like when you hit into a nett? Plus what are the minimum yearly cost?
This should of been a spin , launch and ball speed comparison .. distances with elements really makes this invalid with distance
The KIT is soo bad indoors .. with spin
Why don't you guys test this indoors because tiger flew a wedge by 50 yards and trackman needs rct balls or they cannot get the spin properly.
I do agree at the price point, its a great device but obviously it has problems indoors. That aside, if it truly was a better product than a $25,000 Trackman and a $15,000 Quad, the NON ENDORSED pros would use it, no? Seems like the "launch monitor free agents" all use the Quad and I can only imagine it is because it is dead accurate and does not take into account the elements. Players at that level want their bone stock yardages and will adjust accordingly on the course, hence the reason most go with a camera based unit.
I personally use my GC3 indoors 90% of the time. Having a camera based unit indoors is vital if you want dead accurate numbers.
Its a bit disingenuous to do this test really. The wind doesn't matter unless your goal is to compare to non-wind setting. i.e. I carry it 157 no wind, and into a reported 10 mph wind I carry it 140. Maybe because my height is too high or spin is too high. Its almost like this was setup to make the Quad fail…what about into a net? what about indoors? what about a normalized non-wind reading to compare Trackman and Fullswing algorithms to the non-wind adjusted Quad? Maybe for the sake of truth and validity these were left out on purpose, or maybe I'm too much of a cynic. Why not put the GC3 or Bushnell in this test at the same price…got it. That's right, its a marketing video.
So you are testing 2 Radar Based Launch Monitors (that track real flight) against a Camera-based one. There will be discrepancies if there is wind, altitudes, temperatures. This is a key missing piece of information that you’re refusing to highlight. Ball Speed will likely be within 1-2% of each other.
You can plug the breeze in the GC it will adapt to the conditions
Useless for us in the UK, no point using it for range balls as tracks the whole flight and as its pretty bad indoor so useless for a sim. Not many times I can hire out 8 football pitches to get my numbers with my gamer ball…… and hardly any time on course where you can hit a few balls on each hole to test. GC3 would be my choice, and for a cheaper unit Skytrack seems fine.
I also get that while you stroll around "The Kingdom" hitting brand new TP5's off crisp fresh doing fittings you want a radar system, but pretty much 99% of fittings in the uk are done indoor or on driving ranges with range balls so really need the best indoor sim.
Problem is fella, the radar ones need to be 10 stupid feet behind. Invitation for anyone to grab and run with it. At least GC is right there with you.
Trottie, how does the full swing stack up using everyday range balls? Does it have a normalise feature?
Cheers mate keep up the great vids 👍
Given the parameters the quad unless the full data ie wind speed is added will always be at a disadvantage outside, the Doppler units track ball flight so will be better.. put it inside with only 20 feet of flight the quad comes into its own as Doppler have to make assumptions from the limited flight it tracks.. I’ve tested all and always have to build in tolerance, dependent on where test takes place.. usually 3-5% (ish) measuring with the range finder will be most accurate.. price then becomes a factor.. buy what you can afford, and except the margin of error but use it for what you need..
Love the monitor videos 🔥
Oh and by the way, I am wondering if my friend with an insulin pump it get weird info with an MLM 2, I wonder if that effects the radar LMs.
