Video Description

Do you have problems off the tee?

Are you in need of a Mini Driver or is a 3 wood going to get the job done?

What loft should you play if you choose to get either of these golf clubs?

This #tourtrucktuesday I deep dive into the main difference between the Mini Driver and the 3 wood. The player profile who matches each club and how you could possibly benefit from one model over the other.

In addition I go through some of my own personal experiences with both of these clubs throughout the golf season and why I am choosing one over the other for my own game.

Learning from the channel GREAT – be sure to #subscribe & please feel free to #comment with questions and I’ll get back to you with my thoughts. All feedback is always welcome.

I purchased a Sim 2 Max 3 Wood. It's a Driver and Fairway Wood. Insane distance.

Good one Trottie 👍👍 I got my mini driver because I struggle with a left shot and there is ob left 17 out of 18 holes at my home course. Instantly more in control before lowered to 9.5 degree – agree it’s easy to hit straight and can still draw it when I want, gonna test moving the weights tonight especially at this time of year on the dry heathland I’m happy enough with a low runner. So far not seeing any significant yardage loss , presumably because I’m hitting the middle more. Just love this club

I go driver, mini, 4-wood, and 6-wood. I don’t know why more people aren’t going with that set up!

I’m looking to get fitted for a new set but I was wondering if you would recommend going to golf galaxy or the pga super store for the fitting. Who would have the best people and wide variety of selection

    I put an 80 x-stiff with 2.0 torque and it’s absolutely a monster

Why not just shorten your driver shaft if you’re struggling with it?

Do you have a 3 wood but basically just hit it off the tee because you can't hit it worth a damn off the ground? The mini driver is the perfect replacement. I love the mini but don't know what I'd take out as I have long since gotten rid of my 3 wood and just go driver, 5wood hybrid.

Great video made me laugh this morning ! I have dialled in my mizuno stz 5 wood at 16 degrees with a 3 gram lead weight forward , club lies flat at address , it's now getting me 245 yards carry !! And rolling out well . Just ordered a aerojet ls 3 wood hoping it will be further as I can only hit driver 250/260 yards !!! Fairway Woods working much better for me than any driver I've tested !!

I don’t really see the point in the mini driver for the majority of golfers, although I say that as someone who has never hit one. If you are a top player then you’ll get away with a low loft fairway wood off the deck, but I need more loft. Off the tee I’d prefer a larger head which has, as the big selling point of the Qi10 driver, more forgiveness.

So if I swing 120 and am on the steeper side, this could fit me?

Trottie how about a part 2? Mini driver vs 2 hybrid? Good vid.

My MD (13.5) is 25y longer than my 3W (16 deg).
My Driver (9.5) is 30y longer than my MD.
The MD is definitely nice and easier to hit than a driver – but I just have a hard time visually hitting it off the deck because of the deep profile.

I go D, 3w, 2i. Love my set up. My p790s are strongly lofted so my 4i is 20 degrees, so this set up works for me. I struggle heavily with my woods but my irons I play very well. For me this works but everyone is different

I hadn’t used my 3 wood in nearly 10 rounds. Found an old aero burner mini 14* and use it at least a few times per round off the tee. My driver doesn’t draw but the mini goes similar to driver distance with a stock draw when I need it. I just really don’t need a 3 wood for anything. Keep in mind I’m not crazy elite level fast but I can swing 110-115 if I need to but I’m usually not swinging it that hard on course.

I've gone back and forth on mini, but have just added back in the TM 300 13.5 (at 12.75) w/ Ventus TR Red 6x. I can hit it off the deck but rarely do. It's so versatile off the tee though. It naturally wants to draw (opposite of my driver), but if I need to fade it — tee it low and hit a little safe, squeezy drive, it's no problem.

I love my mini driver. One of the most reliable clubs in my bag. I also switched the weights to help lower the flight. It drives almost as far as my regular driver with much more reliability and Fairway finding. It also feels amazing when you hit center. I wish they made their regular drivers with the same head as the mini, though of course, a little bigger. It’s definitely made different than the regular stealth drivers or QI 10.

I bought the smoke mini, and to be honest, it’s one of the best clubs in my bag. I suffered no distance loss from my normal driver, which I averaged 305 to 310 yards. And I hit the many infinitely straighter and more consistently, to the point where I’ve actually hit the mini driver further than my normal driver.

You may not like it, but the way that you review it is evidence that you’re just another hack influencer on YouTube. I don’t really know how other others play or even seem to realize the diversity of peoples games and gameplay styles.

But hey, thanks for the fact that there are infinite numbers of suckers online who fall for nonsense like you spew, you’ll be just fine.

Got the mini burner to help my fairway finding, turned out i was getting better distances for the burner than i was with a stealth 2 plus … how I have no idea, seem to have gone abit backwards now but here we are into winter to practice and work on it all

Im hitting my 3 wood 240-250 roll out and consistent. Cant get my driver to go as well, been fitted for several and cant get anywhere near the consistency, so maybe 2/10 go where I want with good yardage…best this year 307 roll out using the Garmin club stats. Just bought a mini driver but made by Callaway and cant wait to get it out on the course to see if I can hit consistent 260 shots
