If America was really confident: Trump would come out on Sunday.

    Personal predictions
    Europe 2.5 USA 1.5

    Rahm/Hatton def. DeChambeau/Thomas
-US will come out hot, but Legion XIII is steady, not to mention they've beaten Bryson in the LIV golf team finals. There's experience to it.

    Scheffler/Henley def. Aberg/Fitzpatrick
-Scheffler and Henley have previous chemistry, plus Fitzpatrick's track record in ryder cups is abysmal.

    Fleetwood/McIlroy def English/Morikawa
-The hottest player in terms of momentum and the beating heart of Europe will easily break a solid player and a player with no reason to instill confidence.

    Hovland/Macintyre and Cantlay/Schauffele will tie.
-Schauffele and Hovland cancel each other out in terms of form, same with Macintyre and Cantlay. The Cantlay/Schauffele duo doesn't feel as daunting after they went winless in '23.

    I hope I'm wrong.

Rex and Lav, exciting time for sure. Question. Often in football, there is the convention that if the game is on the line and you are down 3 points and it's 4th and 1 in the redzone, the home team should go for the win (touchdown) while the away team should settle for the tie (field goal then sudden death). Would there be a similar line of thinking in a tied match approaching 18 for either squad? US taking the risky appoach to go for the win while the Euro squad playing conservatively to tie their match? Inquiring minds want to know. 😄

Rex, if you predict a 14.5 to 13.5, why is 14-14 so outrageous?

American ryder cup team isn't selected by skill, it's selected by who's friends with the captain or who the pga likes and thats why the US struggles.

Comparing Bryson now to Bryson 18 and not noticing the difference tells me you are simply now paying attention. Get you head out of the lefts butt.

I've seen comments that the even numbered holes on Bethpage favor a draw while the odds favor a fade. That would indicate DeChambeau shouldn't hit the first tee shot.

The pairing Bradley really needs to work is Scheffler-Hendley. If they click, he will ride them in all 4 team sets.

They do play foursomes at Liv.
Bryson will bomb it over every corner and the rough won’t be penal. The key with Bryson in any format will be his wedge control.

I think JT will pleasantly surprise us this week. I like this team that said Rahm and hatton are formidable.

    Tie.

Is Rory avoiding Bryson ? It sure looks like it. Is he scared? Or just can’t handle Brysons superior popularity ?

I think Henley gonna be a star and Scottie is Scottie. They will win this. Easy.

Rory gets distracted listening to all of Brysons cheers up ahead and goes down.

I like hov and McIntyre stealing one from Xander and Pat.

USA leads by 1 after the morning.

Guys serious reporter question here for yall: Is it just me or those crowds at the opening ceremony —which was 2 days of crowds because of the rain—were quite quiet.
Chamblee said the crowd was loud but seemed not very loud or energetic on tv. Is this a corporate retreat crowd or are the true crazy Bethpage locals fanatics there ?

    I press sent too soon:
Serious Lav that’s your prediction ? A tie?
That’s Rory avoiding match 1 weak.

USA wins this thing; get to 16 points.
    Rory has a losing record.
Brysons popularity over him grows further. And he may cry again. Rory that is.

Rex is a douchebag. Bryson from 2018 or whatever to now..US open win against wink wink Rory? Getting on the team inspite of being on liv? Cmon.

And Europe had a chance to match Bryson or Scottie with Rory. But they didn’t. Defensive much?

There is way too much emphasis on the selection of the pairings. You could pull the names out of a hat and results would probably be better.

Id love a 14/14 tie, Europe retains, i was at the Solheim when this happened and I think this was even more devastating to the USA team than losing.
