1st comment 🙂 havent watched a vid in ages tbh but back again
Another good one, thanks
Quality vid Coach. Use all of these. Sadly Driver all over the show.
I'm not concerned about hitting the green with any particular shot I just want to hit the ball!!!
Whenever I shoot low I always, 100% of the time have 55% to 65% GIR.
Missed some of your videos but this one is spot on. I use most of the tips you’ve mentioned in my own game plans. I’m currently a 6.3 handicap but I am trying to get to a closer scratch handicap. My approach score average is 38% which needs some improvement. I’ve also been working on improving putting. One important aspect is slowing play down to improve ball strikes and alignment. Greatly improved accuracy as well as putting by taking more time in setup. Like how far away from pins on putts, marking the ball and aligning before putting. That extra time will improve the game and help with timing. Good tips and Keep them coming.
Hi, have you done a video of different lies & set up and what you would change.
Cheers
Steve
Another great video 👍
Coach, outstanding video!! I am NOT a scratch golfer. I am a 14 handicap. My Dad had me learn what distance I hit all of my irons with a half swing when I was a kid. The logic was sound. Different ball flights and a bigger variety of shot choices I could use. Mainly, I noticed with the half swing, any club, my dispersion pattern was much tighter. He had me write all of this info down in a pocket tablet. At 65 today, I still do this. I am not a long hitter, never was, but as I age…reality hurts. I find those half swing shots extremely helpful. I dink and dunk and am quite handy around the green. I have zero illusions on long par 5 holes, and bogey is OK for me. I can offset strokes on par 3 and 4 holes. Lastly, learn to lag putt. I define that as 2 feet. I putt at a tee (aim small, miss small). Force yourself to read break correctly up and down hill, with and against the grain, and read the sunburn on the cup and how that affects the putt. Three putts will happen, but they SHOULD become an infrequent event.
Great content, Coach.
I try to think about the lie but I’m not experienced enough to know how to play different lies. This is especially true when it comes to chipping.
As a super high handicapper I also never think about using different clubs to determine how I want the ball to fly/land.
Good tips!
Great content. I also just work on hitting the center of the green regardless of the pin. But it depends on if past the pin means a sever downhill put that will run off. Then I go for a below the pin shot.
Awesome tips Coach! This is why I love your content bruh. Learning to actually “play” the game reminds us that it’s not just swing technique…. Totally appreciate that. I love playing funky shots, but for certain I like my stock shots if I can play them.
I quite often use the low raking hooked 4 iron from under the trees, and am fairly good at it…must be all the practicing of it…⛳
Always appreciate your tip videos. You do such a good job explaining things in simple terms, plus the stats you share are always relevant and helpful! I’ve got a at better reading the lie as I’ve got older. Cheers!
🤔 also a having a good short game, being able to get up and down more often after being just shy of the green – saves a good number of shots (?) Any stats available on scrambling?
Great video. Helpful
I don’t have 1 shot I can hit, much less three
