We jam every time we play here in the good ole US. I’ve used the blue tees rangefinder and the original speaker for awhile and love them. The rangefinder is comparable to Bushnell. Speaker is good. I do want the new speaker

    Some stuff that needs clarification,

    – is the app and speaker compatible with iPhone/ Apple products?

    – Is there a subscription fee to use their own app?

    – if you are pulling your phone out on the course to view the hole map or check yardage from beyond the cart from the tee block why aren’t you just utilising an already existing app? You already own the tech that is your phone. And you are using it on course. There are several apps which are refined some of which are free but most reputable ones have some sort of subscription fee. But they’re compatible with both app and android and in many cases utilising the peripheral smart watch which many people own.

I can’t for the life of me work out why you would use these products at this price point. I’m not saying they’re poor quality they’re just very old ideas. Specially when you can get a Garmin watch that provides the same information that the pendant and speaker do at a fraction of the price. Or alternatively have a Garmin pendant and that has an interactive touch screen with a complete hole overview or utilise and app on your phone specially if there’s a subscription to the one that works with the speaker. The rangefinder appears to be the best value for money but then I wasn’t clear on if it has flag lock or a couple other features that exist at a cheaper price point.

I do listen to music on course when playing from time to time but I will always use headphones due to many older golfers I get paired with hate the non traditional ways of golf. I don't use a range finder at this time (18birdies works fine) but the idea of a rechargeable rangefinder with USB C appeals to me.

I can’t play golf without listening to music honestly. Obviously I don’t play it loud enough to cause issues for others

I have the new speaker and its okay. Honestly it is not as good as the bushnell speaker. The magnet is not as powerful and the sound is not up to par compared to the bushnell. It fell off on a bump and ive never had that happen with my bushnell. The speaker only comes out of onside vs all arpund on the bushnell. Gps app was not very impressive and lacking features other apps have. Ill probably sell mine and opt for the newer bushnell.

All these toys are a waste of time if your swing is inconsistent. People would be better off investing in lessons that will do far more for their game then toys.

Then again, we all know golf is a game where any technical flaw can be fixed with money and toys 😅😂

I tend to play alone so I use a speaker on every round. As I don't use a cart it's a nice way to relax between shots. When I play with partners, one of the guys also uses a speaker and the group I play with like the music. I can't understand why people don't like music on the course, as long as you're aware of others around you it adds another dimension to your playing experience.

I'm American, and I listen to music. Its never obnoxious and I'm aware of the type of music I play, and the volume.

Only a complete a$$hole uses a speaker on a golf course.

You come across the occasional bellend on the train or in a public space playing music out loud and it's massively inconsiderate. Spend £5 and get some earphones from Poundland you knob. And those chumps who have a conversation on speakerphone anywhere out in public deserve a special place in hell. Keep the music off the golf course, at least in the UK; it's abhorrent. Listening is great as it takes your mind off the game…especially after a bad hole. So I think it’s therapeutic and makes it even more enjoyable.

I'm in the U.S. I don't know anyone who listens to music, while playing. And I would never play with someone who listens to music.

I don’t listen to music on the golf course – I’m playing and thinking golf ffs! – and I’m sure most of us definitely do not want to listen to anyone else’s music on the golf course😡 It wouldn’t surprise (or upset) me if many clubs here in the UK introduced rules to ban it. Earbuds sound like a solution but hey, might that stop you hearing shouts of “Fore!”? So, maybe even those aren’t such a good idea. Otherwise these Blue Tees products do look very well thought out. Would be nice if those sold in the UK had ‘“centre” spelt the way we spell it 😉

I really question buying a product from blue teas again.Because the first product I bought from broke down in less than a year. It was absolute garbage

I live in USA…. Music should be banned on a golf course. Even groups not on my hole can ruin others golf experience. Head phones are cheap!

Shame you omitted to mention the annual subscriptions that come into effect after the first year. Presumably you will need a subscription to continue with the score/shot/club tracking, which will make the overall cost of Blue Tees significantly more expensive.

The range finder is 270$ not 199$ when I add it to cart currently.

Me and my buddies always have some classic rock going, or something that’s less likely to offend. The reality is unless you’re waiting right behind someone at the tee box which isn’t good etiquette anyway, you won’t hear my music as it’s loud enough for me and my friends but not for everyone else. The point of golf is to get out and have fun, the music helps.

As for the product my main concern is the subscription cost on something like this. If you aren’t paying the $50 subscription which likely won’t stay that price. Does your hardware effectively become useless without it? I’m thinking of Arcos where it became really too pricey for your average golfer to continue to enjoy it unless you were grandfathered in to use sensors without a subscription.

100% music on course. Got a small (!) Bluetooth speaker on my bag. Odd here in Germany… but me and my mates enjoy it.

Was a purist and wanted SILENCE on the course, up until a couple of years ago. Now? I have a Blue Tees player plus speaker (non GPS variant) and use it every round. Always check with playing partners to ask if they'd prefer to play without, and I've yet to be paired with anyone who's objected. Obviously we're not blasting and turning it up to 11. I've found that music on the course is a nice distraction. Enjoyable to listen to, and keep your mind engaged while not over-obsessing about the next shot. There's a time for that, and the music is easy to tune out when you need to.

Having a bad round? Shanked one into the lumber yard? Throw on your favorite tune and decompress. You may save a few otherwise thrown in the lake clubs / putter.

A regular playing buddy also has one, and when together we pair them up in the cart. NEXT level sound when more than one is used. Almost worth buying a second for yourself when that regular can't make it.

Loosen up over there across the pond and give it a shot!

American born & bred. Music is NOT for me during golf. Inside the cart? Sure. If I can hear music on the tee box, no thank you. Find me during drinks on 19. All good then.

$200USD for the Ringer GPS, but the Bushnell Phantom2 is $130USD and does the same thing (while being half the size of the Ringer).

I am ok with people playing music on the course has long as the volume is turned way down. The only people that should be able to hear it, is the ones in your group.

I didn't used to listen to music, but then everyone started around here, and it got distracting, so I got my own so I can at least choose what I'm listening too… but now I use open ear ear buds… so I can still hear EVERYTHING, because I keep the volume low. End rant

Does the ringer need a subscription or is the sub just for the speaker/GPS?

My foursome always listens to music. No issues with anyone else around either. We come up on a group we turn it down. It kinda keeps us loose. Also is fun.

I played a 4 man scramble with a guy that had a speaker playing loud.
The front nine it was all rap. And we just could not get a rhythm going.
At the turn he switched to classic rock music and we burned down that back nine.
Then he said, "Why couldn't we score on the front?" Hmmm, such a mystery.
