No idea why, but Mizuno is my fav golf brand. Got ST230 Max Driver/3 wood. Get on well with them. Might just go all in irons and a 5 wood too this season.

Maybe the tournament placing projection isn’t too accurate as you’re playing in wet and cold? Surely most tournaments are played in summer?

I am rather old fashioned but after just one hole, it seems like your scoring target is inappropriate for the conditions. You're playing in full waterproofs, air temperature barely above freezing. Par 71 seems like an appropriate "standard scratch" or whatever it's called these days Matt. Breaking 70 would be a phenomenal score and 72 would be respectable in my opinion from my couch 😂
Graphite shafts gone?? Did you do a summary of them?? Why the switch back etc??

Just an observation, this beautiful course is screaming out "2-iron" off the tee. That poppy floaty 5-wood seems more appropriate for approach shots not tee shots
I’d love to see you chat with Joe on the camera a bit, yes he was good on the podcast but you seem so much more comfortable with your shots and pace yourself well when you have a playing partner. Say, with Andy or Pete, you seem relaxed and ready to strike when you have some group dialogue. I’ve got no numbers to back up this idea but hey Joes seems a great guy give it a whirl.
Granted this video you seem more chill than in the past, good vibes towards that first win!

GG, tough conditions in that cold and wet day. Bit of a mental game, good to see you kept it positive and made the scores. Putting needs a bit of work. The leaky fades would have blown me mentally, I would have started fixing my setup half way around and probably the wheels would have come of my swing

At our club we have a very active old boys section (age50+) and we’ve decided to donate a portion of the weekly comp fees to charity rather than pay it out as winnings, and capping prize money to ensure we keep it social / friendly.

JADED the word of the day TB. With the exception of yours truly who pops up once in a while, it’s the same old, same old day in day out, golf content is saturated. Somebody needs to reinvent the wheel, but I fear they will stick with the same ‘I’m quitting………eating a banana before my round’ click bait garbage.

Honestly think playing with a caddie would save you a lot of shots every round, just keep your head level

Genuinely think those S-3's will be a mistake after half a dozen round. Not that you're not a good golfer, just we all need some help and confidence.
