Great swing coach. What feels do you have for getting through the ball so well?
    Thanks, good channel.

Do you ever go to Mark for a lesson? Or has it been too hard since the falling out

I know its taking it a bit far at the moment given what you are chsnging but the interaction of the downswing and the push up/back of your front leg/hip would be interesting. Love it so far 👍

Great video Coach. Does this mean that the low left exit that you have talked about in the past is not the way to go? Definitely want to see more of these vids

Hi Matt .. here is what I would add to what Alex has you working on. You are wanting a straight ballfight, that flies straight down your target line, yes?
Continue with what Alex said about moving off the ball about an inch or so in your turn…. and don't lock out that right knee.. maintain a little flex… as it was at address. That needs cleaning up…
But what Alex was working on, with where your shaft is aligned… this is my expansion on that…. and it's easy to remember and visualize. It is also the most important bit concerning the orientation with which a player needs to swing the club, to produce a straight and accurate ballflight. Just keep this concept in mind…

*Whenever the SHAFT is LEVEL to the floor… the SHAFT should be pointed PARALLEL down the target line.* … from address to finish position.
This produces an on plane swing,… and that plane is aligned to your target line. This will train a repeatable, zero'd path.
    Cheers Matt

Really good to watch. I've got a major over the top issue at the moment and some of the advice in this might help! Thanks for sharing this with the rest of us!

I'm a 10 handicap and have your same push right driver shot. Very interesting how the link with upper body moving backwards producing poor shot could be my issue?

Love to see the driver lesson.

Great channel, my go to site.
    Thanks

This is awesome to see a pro getting a lesson. Just shows how you’re not egotistical and always learning. That’s a great thing because you’re giving your students the best possible information

Excellent video Coach…maybe your best yet. Would like to see your driver lesson and a 'how to practice' video. Alex's explanations were really clear I thought. Good luck with the changes.

This is the sort of coach that I really, really like. A lot of the time, I see coaches talking about "feels" and whatnot to sort of psychologically produce desired results. Those have never worked for me. I need to understand the biomechanics behind why the body produces certain results, even the subconscious catch ups. I've not once heard about pelvis and shoulder tilt inducing different swing paths. My natural shot shape is a slight fade – and there is nothing wrong with that – but where I live, most of the courses are tight and wooded; sometimes you simply have to hit a draw on approach. My chest and hips stay stacked in my backswing, so when I transition, it's really hard to get that in to out path without dropping my right side which tends to cause pull hooks or thin contact. I figured that the answer was more dropping of the right shoulder to force the path and work on clubface control, but this has proved otherwise.

Coaches like this who actually get into the complexities of the biomechanics are what we need in golf

Went to this video after your video on extension the role your hips plays. As I knew your advice on hips movement was correct, I knew from experience it could lead to a reverse pivot(as in your swing). For a super senior this is more pronounced. Any advice for ensuring this does not happen when properly turning hips as your key swing thought. Thx, Tom

A good teacher! It's nice (sic) to see a teacher that addresses the chain of cause and effect and works from that place instead of the focus on outcomes, results and behavioural stuff that seems these days to dominate the teaching industry these days. As a consequence it seems to me, all Alex's points were comprehensible and therefore effective. Great stuff! Look forward to following the effects of this down the line for Matthew.
