Hi I’m Matt Lockey, welcome to my Coach Lockey YouTube Channel. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, and to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf course vlogs, golf challenges, golf tips, golf lessons, golf club reviews and the odd golf club unboxing. So pretty much everything golf!
I want to help you play better golf by providing coaching videos on all topics about golf. How to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
As well as helping you produce the best long game you can have, I will help you lower your scores by chipping better, stopping duff and thin chips, pitching the ball closer and creating backspin like the tour pros. Finally, I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts too!

After H5: gain on drive & short game, lose on approach and putting. True answer would depend to which hcp bracket you compare yourself to Coach 😄 Ah ok, 3 minutes later it' scratch bracket. lovely.
My guess would be gaining with Driver, losing strokes with irons, about level with putter
I find it really tough taking changes onto the course. Trying to keep club face outside hands on initial part of the backswing and make it more on plane. So easy to fall back into old habits. Great job by the way. Its weird when you have to recalibrate your alignment. Everything feels off.
Difficult to take a range swing to the course? Absolutely! Took me about a month or two to take a major change this year from the range to the course and another month or two before I mentally trusted it in competition. My brain tends to get in the way
Way to go, Coach! Keep it up. When is the next top 50 episode coming?
Try some jumbomax grips to stop that left shot
Difficult. So I practice it on the range and at home in the garden as my lawn will testify with all the divots. Once I’m comfortable I’ll take it on course.
Cool to see a teaching pro who is primarily in a sim go on the course and show they can actually play. Well done.
I can take my swing out to the course after a lesson. Without alignment sticks, my alignment I have to work on more.
Really nice Video!!!
Same Coach? Or new Coach? Is switching Coaches and ideas a big Problem in golf or do the different approaches actually help in the longterm?
New parfield , what going on ?!! Very tidy , I'll defo take a look at your lesson , it's worked wonders 😂😂
great job coach! I'm working on ball position myself and it feels so strange but I'm getting there. Like you said when I get everything right it goes much straighter and a better ball flight so I'm improving for sure
had a cpl lessons in which I was to increase my shoulder and chest turn and on takeway to be wider and club head not so far outside my hands – ball striking improved and so did distance. Last lesson I'm to "feel" my chest lower and the rotate up and around my left side … timing all of that is tough, no muscle memory yet.
Great video coach 👍🏻👍🏻⛳️
Nice Matt,,, time to give that Crossfield fella a lesson lol
I used to think you were standing closed in your earlier videos with Mark but put it down to camera angles etc. Now your alignment is spot on and the sound made on the ball is really crisp. You would sling your tee shots to the left occasionally which was very destructive. The lesson will prove to be invaluable.. Great vid coach.
ingraining good habits takes me time and lots of repetitions both in practice AND out on the course when I have a heightened need/want to make each swing count. At times i become more concerned with strokes lost and the train wreck of a hole(s) than the benefits of fine tuning to out perform my fellow golfers with strokes gained.
just imagine if you werent the unluckiest golfer in the world. that would have been at least -14
After a lesson I take it to the course and it’s brilliant. Then, the next time I play it’s worse than before the lesson.! Then, gradually, I claw it back until I’m getting somewhere, so I’m ready for the next lesson and round we go again! 😄 Ace vid, Coach, the punch under the trees was a cracker! 👍🏻
I struggle with going from the range to the course. I spend too much energy on thinking about the changes and not the target. The journey never ends.
I find that if I have big swing changes, I have to avoid playing too much golf on the course and really ingrain things on the range. It tends to be 'two steps forward and one step back'. I find that trusting the changes on the course has quite a big psychological barrier. Trusting yourself to swing out to the right when you've been hitting a push slice is hard and there are only so many golf balls you can buy.
What's that shot scope thing is that an app
Two lessons last season took 2 months to adjust swing and rest of the season to get used to. Went from fade (slice) to draw (hook). Continue to build on results this season. Now finding a more neutral ball flight with control! Result: driver back in the bag after two season banishment and handicap down 5-6 shots and improving. Continuing to improve and stick to tips for my swing improvements.
Fixed short game by adding a chipper. (Cheat stick). I can only fix so much at a time.
Lessons are so valuable once you are ready to improve.
Short game and putting lessons next.
I'm pretty good at getting the lesson onto the course. Keeping it there is my issue. One or two bad swings and I'm back to square one.
There's only one true test of your golf game….under pressure with Crossfield in yer grill !!! LOL
Greens look MINT.
I had a basic ball striking lesson and afterwards I had to recalibrate all my distances and deal with mishits due to lack of trust. It’s worth the change, just difficult to full implement and integrate.
I find it amazing that coaches need coaching…. just goes to show that whatever level of golf you play at we all need that extra set of eyes with concise advice to help us…..all looking good tho……🌟🎊🤩🥳
just love the course vlogs, Coach! Keep up the good work. You'll be just like Parfield in a few years!
🤣😂
Great video coach. Love this video format. You are still a putting God.
Cracking matty !respect to put it out there ! Driver or 3 wood sh*t off the tee, its killing me ! Help me janner !!!
What did Tiger say it took him 8 months to accept a small grip change, it’s when the pressure is on that you know you have accomplished the change!
Gotta put a clear visualisation up for your score at the end ideally mate
So cool to see you playing Carden… love it. Game going well coach, love to see it mate.
Not good when you need a drone for second shot on par 3…….not lovely
Ya know Coach… videos like this you gotta pinch yourself, smile, and say, “Yes please…this is my job…”.
I mean video editing aside and the creating back office kind of stuff…. Looks like it’s time for some matches bruh!!!
Fantastic video. Very helpful. Head staying back and crushing it ala Tommy Fleetwood 💪🏽. Excellent coach A+++
Off to Carden next month, course looking lovely, nice score as well Coach…
"It feels like I'm aiming 100yrds left"
Coach , that's because for the last 8yrs you've always hit it 100yrds right 😂😂😂 hope your new swing gets you to where you should be bruh
Enjoying the changes and process coach. Hope to see you enjoying your golf so much more! Love the course vlogs
No more Blockey!
