In this video, Adam goes over several ways to fix an over the top swing. Many golfers tend to go across the line due to an extra arm lift to the top of the swing versus having the body turn. Try these drills to fix an across the line swing in order to get you more on plane.

I wish I could give this 10 likes. I STRUGGLE with crossing the line then coming in steep. It’s been like this for 5 years and cannot fix it. I cannot get the club back on plane in the downswing. I’ll try these drills.

This channel is an absolute savior. I kind of hit rock bottom with golf to the point where I really did not want to play. Watching these videos and seeing you help golfers who are very relatable for most of us is such a blessing. You have such great passion and energy for this. Too bad we cant clone you and all have our own Adam!

Hey man, love the video guides. I just took a video of my swing and I seem to be doing this a lot so it really helps out. I also noticed that I am leading with my hips and my hands get trapped behind me. Im not to sure how to address this issue or know of any drills to help fix it. My shots tend to either start straight and slice or i block it right. Any videos you recommend on your channel or drills to fix this. And recommend how much i practice each day?

I love your teachings here and will definitely start using these approaches. The student however was just shortening his swing with the same tendency to head across the line. He’ll get there, but this wasn’t it.

You can see his brain still wants to have that extra run-off, working through that myself, once he gets that tidied up it will benefit greatly

What would be a good drill if I’m getting too laid off in my backswing?

I’ve been doing the Faldo and Pete cowen split grip drill a lot. I think this may have caused me to get too laid off at the top of my backswing.

This is exactly what I need. I suffer from crossing the line and getting too long as well on the back swing.

I have the same problem and do this drill. It is now so reassuring that I’m on the right track after watching you point out the fine points of the drill . I felt like I was getting a personal lesson. Thank you so much. I love your passion! 😊

Best instructor EVER! He’s changing everything I think about with my swing! Just wish I’d had you a long time ago! You have contradicted so many things I’ve learned in the past…..seems like everything! Anywho, I believe in the hip bump and why it works so well. Thank you so much!

The feeling of pointing the but down the line behind the ball after the set position is absolute gold

Adam, does the method of getting the shaft more vertical with wrist set apply to woods and driver?

Hi Adam. Can you please confirm the left wrist position at address, specifically ulnar deviation?

Very good video! I struggle with going across the line. Think it's because I'm a short hitter, my brain says I need to swing further around, but it just causes me more issues.

That was a cool shot where you "ghosted" his starting swing over the new version. Back when your channel was a lot smaller, I knew it wouldn't take long for you to get to 100k and here you are. Keep up the great work.

Adam and team — this is so good. The focus on wrist set and connection has done wonders for my swing. You are the best on the web — simple, efficient, powerful and repeatable. Thanks

Does this apply for driver too, with the early wrist set?

This is me – 15 years of baseball and I have very high hands with elbow very far away from the ribs. This will definitely help! Although I think maybe of us who struggle not only over swing the hands but maybe have a bit of shoulder tightness.

This is my problem also, crossing the line is not a simple mistake, a lot going on with this. Thanks for giving a simple solution. Though I can see in the student demo here, there is still a little push at the end of the back swing that create a little cross the line too…this is also what happen to me 🙏

does this also work with driver?

He was still tipping it a touch at the top but massively better. His before swing is just like mine. I am trying to make this change and improving but my shots are now slight blocks. Is this because I am still holding off a pull/hook from the old position? How do I stop that?

I cant get rid of it no matter how hard I try. I suppose Im too flexible, I cant stop the club at the top 🤔

Typed in my struggle… This video popped up and it’s perfect. Didn’t even need the alignment stick. Just visualized the line and the butt end of my club and it’s a night and day difference of a swing. Thank you!

This is my issue. Even when I look at my “half swings” on video I’m lifting up and it looks like almost a full.

Great stuff Mike as always ! After the Set – when you say “Turn” – what is turning ? I feel like if it’s the shoulders that club will get right back across the line – thanks
