2 or 3 putts held of the 9 tap-ins you had, & couple more straighter drives off tee would resulted top 5

Matt I think this is the best you've played in a while plus you kept your head. Four strokes less would not have been that much here I feel, plenty of very close putts

OK, Devil's Advocate here…..the reality is you have "maxed out" on your ability and your scores. Not enough practice, not enough physical conditioning, not enough coaching for your swing and your mental game, and age is catching up with you. We all want to be the best we can be (at golf) and since your scores consistently remain the same (you are breaking 80) why not consider a change to your golfing journey and be at peace with it. MG

GETTING SO CLOSE TO A GREAT SCORE. CHIPPING /PITCHING LOOKING FANTASTIC .DON'T SUPPOSE YOU COULD SACRIFICE A LITTLE DISTANCE OFF THE TEE IN EXCHANGE FOR A MORE FORGIVING CLUB?.
NOW TOMMY HAS THE MONKEY OFF HIS BACK, YOU'RE NEXT MATT. ANOTHER EXCELLENT VIDEO .
P.S WHAT DID YOUR DAD HIT?

Yeah Matt we can see on your day you are a tidy golfer, and the work you have put in this year has definitely improved your game and mindset. Your Open Qualifying in dreadful weather showed you can compete. Just keep tidying up the niggles, stay focussed, and it can happen. All the best mate!

Fryer I would like to hear in one of your comps that you allow us to be a part of for you not to indulge in any self negative talk after any shot no matter how bad

I say keep persevering with the series. Not only will you benefit within your own game but everyone of your subscribers can relate to your struggles and your triumphs. Can't blame you from walking off. Best of luck with your other comps.

Mizuno S3 back in the bag? You made a video a couple of months ago where you said they were the wrong clubs for you and you went for the jpx forged?

Matt you remind me of myself atm….getting so frustrated on the course and feel as if the world is against you when I get a bad break…seem to have no luck atm with getting a good lie in a bunker or landing in divots etc and it’s really effecting my play and don’t know how to change my train of thought 😢

I literally shed a tear when — after years of disappointment — ol’ Finchy finally qualified.

I expect it won’t be long before I do the same while watching a video in this series.

I watch your video because they are the best. Plus you use Mizuno clubs which I have used for years.

You played the par3s really well (-1).
Your pitching improved even if you didn't knock it stiff or make perfect contact.
Where your round suffered is from the tee.
Get the driver straightened out and you’ll have a few more approach shots from the fairway with that 50° wedge you like. From there, your SG putting will also improve.

Putting. Yes, some imperfect shots along the way, but in the end: putting. Looked like you were having a lot of trouble with those greens.

Excellent bunker play today Matty. Driver was good but we are used to seeing you hole more puts. May be time to change putters? Keep grinding Mi amigo!

Well done for keeping your head most of the time Matt. I think having a Caddy helped calm you.
