With the chip shots coming up short, I gave a guy a lesson because he was taking 3-4 shots to get down from around the greens, it was painful to watch….
So, the lesson was simple, I told him to chip the ball straight in the hole, I told him if he didn't get the ball passed the hole he had to start again, he said "but it'll go way passed the hole, as explained to him, currently he was leaving it way before the hole, so we started with him trying to slam dunk every shot…
Within 20 mins he was getting the ball within 4ft every time and getting up nd down in 2 not 4…
Be bold and score better..!!

This is what I’m talking about!!!! Alex, thank you for posting an honest round. You drove the ball like a beast. Mechanics on all shots/putts were solid. Around the green decisions were in my view your nemesis. It seemed you executed those chips and pitches really well, but your thoughts on how the ball would react on the green or how the club would interact with the turf were maybe a bit off. That’s just basic rust.
Clearly, you are not just another dude giving golf instruction on YouTube. You’re a player. A couple more rounds of golf and I suspect you will be in top form.
Thank you for taking us through your decisions and thought processes. Thank you for being vulnerable and highlighting your bad habit early on, the “should have, would have, could have” game.
Again, you are a player. No doubt.
P.S. Regarding LIV. I would not want my country (USA) to back a professional sport league. I would be just as turned off by it as I am the Saudi-funded LIV.

Great Vid! Quick question – I notice small dings in my irons as I put them back in the bag. I haven’t been worried about it making a difference in my game as an amateur. I know pro players probably do. Do I need to worry about it? I’ve always thought if I was good enough to worry about it, I’d be somewhere else or playing at Pebble Beach. 😂
Hi Alex, I’ve been working a lot on course management and wanted to ask you if there was any reason you took driver over 3 wood on the first hole if u were going to lay up and there was a bunker in the landing zone??
