You need to adjust to your new normal of hitting it beautifully long and straight

Don’t really comment but am a regular viewer and felt the need to throw my tuppence in. Matt you’re easily one of the most relatable guys on YouTube golf. Informative, honest and a pretty funny guy. The 3 point video helped me massively, kind of flicked a switch as to you can only do what you can do, the rest is upto the golfing gods as they say.
But jeezus, I dunno what you did to the golfing gods but they were fuming, if it could bounce badly – it DID. Absolute madness. Much kudos for the mental strength holding it together. Course looks superb

Keep em comin r kid 🍿

Looking at that you had some bad bounces to the left into the trees, sometimes you just have to let it out,

It couldn't get worse than that, and you handled it pretty well Matt. One of these rounds, and overall you played fine it seems apart from one or two shanks and bad runs of luck. Hopefully thats it all out of the way and you hit -10 in qualifying, when it counts, just don't get in your own head!

Jesus christ you are fun to play with id imagine. My idea of 5 hours of hell playing with this kind of vibe.
Not sure what you are up to playing the game like this apart from gaining youtube views.
"Unlucky break after unlucky break". What planet you on. You hit some awful shots.

    Funny how the universe works.
You ask for it to help you with your mental / emotional game so it throws the kitchen sink at you in order you get the lesson.
Be aware of what you ask for? 😂😂😂

I wish I could play as well as you, but I noticed something that may help you maintain your cool.
When you hit right or left and had trees to contend with, you played those shots wonderfully. Knowing that it wasn't a perfect drive or fairway shot should not get you down knowing you have the skills to get out of trouble. Try it since you're looking to tamp down getting upset, maybe it'll work for you. Obviously, it won't work 100% of the time, but if it works 80% it's a big help.

Buddy I've noticed how often you challenge the right side of the fairway with your tee shots: I think your face is more square than it has ever been and don't think you need aim so far off the middle anymore to make room for the auto-draw, yes?

Very impressed how well you held your composure, a year ago that round would have been an absolute disaster with mental meltdowns. Great to see how far you have come mentally. You put together a great round with quite a few bad breaks. Soldier on brother.

I thought your putting was much improved in this round. You putted assertively, and nearly always finished a couple of feet past the hole. You sank all the short putts, and got close with a lot of the longer ones. If you can take advantage of your drives to get your approach shots within 10-12 feet you'll be looking good for a below par score.
One other observation: I think you need to give more thought to your recovery shots. It's easy to be thinking about how annoying it is to be in trouble and forget to think about exactly where and how you need to hit to get out of it.
Good luck for the qualifying round. A good driving and putting day will see you get through, I reckon.

Your scorecard doesnt illustrate how well you played. Three bad shots without a break, also unlucky on 12th from the bunker as well. Theres some really good scores coming from you this season.

Well done for just about keeping it together. I’d suggest starting each round with the mindset that you will definitely hit some bad shots. Expect to hit some as every golfer does – then when it happens it’s not a surprise or frustrating and your mind will be in a better place for the next shot. You expect too much from yourself at times, allow yourself to hit some bad shots

"Let me talk to you about acceptance"…Cue a shank off the first followed by a fatty hook. Challenge accepted! Awesome episode, Matt! Keep it going, matey 🙏🙏🙏

This is where I give you massive credit. You stand up at the end, reviewing the round, warts and all. And you still believe. That alone convinces me, youre on the up. Heres how to offset the negatives. Accept is not the right word, how about "know" youll have at least 2 unfortunate breaks every round. Thatll free you up to focus on the positives to keep the momentum going. At the moment, your first bad break is upsetting the rhythm of the play that follows. You know youre dwellimg on what has just gone. Think of it like this – let them go. Bad play happens. Great play happens. Why do we know great play will happen? Because it just will. Same for bad breaks. 1 down – move on. 2 down – move on. plenty of holes to redress the damage. Plenty of holes to claw back the damage with great play.
