In this video, Adam breaks down one of the most important — and most misunderstood — fundamentals in the golf swing: the hand path.
Whether you tend to lift the club too far inside, roll it open, or take it too far outside, mastering the correct hand path in the takeaway and backswing will completely transform your consistency and ball striking.

We’ll cover:
1️⃣ How to start the takeaway with the hands, arms, and body working together
2️⃣ The ideal hand path that keeps the club on plane from setup to the top
3️⃣ The trail arm’s role in guiding the hands during the backswing
4️⃣ A simple checkpoint drill to make sure your hand path is perfect every time

Learning how to perfect your golf hand path leads to:
✅ A more consistent takeaway
✅ Better swing plane and rotation
✅ Elimination of early reroutes and compensations
✅ Effortless power and better compression

If you’ve ever struggled with being too inside or too steep, this video will give you a clear, simple blueprint for how to move the hands properly throughout the swing.

I find that leaving my back facing the target as I start the down swing I tend to crunch my lower back. I’m clearly doing it wrong!

Does the club automatically release the angle on the downswing or do you have to manually throw your arm angle at the ball for impact?

Can't simply move the hands along the toe line in the takeaway, Hands will travel inside and a player will lose center without adding left side tilt in the takeaway.

Hiya mate love your content and I've been glued to your channel all weak. I've been practicing all week trying to get my hands under my chin at club parallel to the ground and lead arm straight at impact and I CAN NOT DO IT for love of money!! No matter how many pump drills, hideki drills, slow swings, or how I sequence my swing. I haven't been playing long, my handicap is hight at the minute but its coming down and I just need to know if I'm missing something or will it come in time??

Still love ya even if you can't be arsed replying btw, keep up the good work my dude.

Hi Adam, I have a question about the downswing. Should your hip/pressure/weight go towards the target before you reach the top of the backswing and then as a result of that the arms drop naturally in the slot? I hear other coaches say this but you mention it’s like a bow and arrow at the top then fast hands with hip and grip which suggests it is not the case? Thanks
