This is how my kid (and many juniors) learned how to hit the ball. Some never end up switching from crosshanded!

So many Irish hurlers golf "cack handed" like this.

Played a round in Scotland with a bloke who hit everything like this – including driver. Said he played off 3 and didn’t doubt him based on how he struck it!

Thanks Mark. It definitely makes a difference but isn’t as easy when you switch back to normal grip as one might think. I need to keep practicing it. Ric

Some time back, I seriously considered playing this way. I felt it was too much to ingrain given the time required. I also felt it would sacrifice distance. Any thoughts?

Mark, you should mention that there are actually a few world class players currently on tours using this cross-handed or cack-handed grip. I remember reading about a black pro golfer in the 1980's who beat no less Arnold Palmer, among others, on the Senior Tour. His name was Charles Owen. He also pioneered/invented what we know today as the "long putter".

I like the ingenuity of this drill! The feeling of controlling the face is so confidence building…. Thanks Mark! You just reminded me of a student you had on who hit shots like this…along with Lester’s chipping and Matt Fitzpatrick…

Once again, Mark delivers. This drill is probably the best thing I have ever found to get my swing synced back up and on plane. This is absolutely crazy. Such a fantastic drill. Brilliant stuff Mark!!

I have a buddy who never learned correctly and now he can't but play like this. He can still hit the ball a mile.

I don't think it feels abstract at all, feels a lot more natural than my normal swing 😂
Will try to implement on my next rangesession.
I'm a notorious over-the-top and i think i have tried almost everything, but i have never seen this drill before so it's definetely worth a shot (that hopefully doesn't get weak, curving to the right)

I got fantastic results the same day I saw this. I will use this every training until my over-the-top is out of my system.
I came in way better to the ball, my tempo got better, i managed to get power from lead leg, no slice/push/fade/cut, i didn't think at all about my take-away/backswing, the release got a lot clearer somehow, or let's say the sequenzing got a lot more clear…

I have been working a lot with my swing, but never really gotten my club on the right plane when trying to bow my wrist, pull the handle, let the club drop…or whatever.
I still hit some fat and thin shots and some bad strikes in general, but i'm still amazed how this changed my swing – not having my mind clouded with swingthoughts.

I did 10 airswings with reverse grip
    Gripped the club normal
    2 airswings
    1 swing with a ball
    And repeated.

I care Mark. You were the very first who talked wrist angles and face control, and then people start talking about John Rahm swing and all that…
