You didn’t hit that ball into a penalty area but were close to an unplayable actually with that bush or whatever so you were lucky twice as the water kept it out. Drop adjacent to a dry spot with 1 club. Yes, you did do it wrong but no biggy.

I have found that when you leave a lot of birdie putts short it’s time to check your head. It’s likely caused by avoiding the 3 putt when you’re in good birdie range.
