What are you working on in your golf swing right now?
Doesn't make sense to me, but I will give it a try. Will let you know.
Sergio has said that his feeling is similar, he described it as pulling a chain. I like the phrasing you use better though, pulling the club out of a vice. When im swinging best I feel a nice load in my hands and in the shaft through transition. I’ve lost that feeling lately, this is definitely worth trying for me.
I think a lot of people are going to cup the leading wrist on the down swing with this feel.
Mark another brilliant video
I'll try it out.
Willl definitely try the feel
Seems like set with your right wrist then pull grip off with your left hand?
There was an article in Golf Digest about David Love III when he turned professional and where he got all his power and speed from and you’ve pretty much described how he did. I like the idea of pulling the grip off as a better swing thought to me, so thanks!
I'll try it when the snow melts 👍🙂👍
ok, but are you initiating the pull with your legs first or arms?
Mark you used the analogy of pulling the grip rearward before when working with the guys from JD academy on the lead arm staying straighter. I caught onto it then and tinkered with it and had some good results. This upload is a reminder of that feeling encouraging a more sweeping downswing, which is what I’m working on to improve face to path and striking up on the ball at impact.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺
All golf instruction today seems to be just another way to "think" and/or "feel" something, versus what works for a person individually. It's like a flavor of the week! Lol! I will try this flavor to see if the "pulling off of the grip" really works! Can't wait to find out! Thank you!
I get the pulling the grip thing, but you then got to change timing and all sorts of things in a swing someone has been doing for some time but is a good tip.
Been using Sergio’s tip … pull the toilet chain! The old above the head type for the younger viewers
Mark, I’ve been watching your videos for over 10 years. This is excellent. It reminds me back to when you were giving tips in your backyard or living room. This is an excellent feel. I’m definitely going to try it.
If it was pulling the head off guessing there wouldn't be many having issues with their swings 🤪
Good advice ! I'll try this at the range today . Thanks Mark!❤
Hi Mark, I will give it a try. My driving has suffered for quite a while. However, I have been working on not grounding the driver at address and keeping the club about six inches away from the ball. Coming back a tad on the inside and that gives me the confidence to get through the ball. I might be talking a load of old rubbish but I am getting some positive results from it.
Great video. Yes i hit them straighter and farther. Better height as well. For some reason i can only hit it when i start from the top already with my hands set. Any tips on getting to that spot more consistently, or should i just stay with the pause for now.
One of many good teachers , but there is no magic solution in life therefore golf is no different.
Hmm, I’ll give this a go but I kind of feel like this is what I do but it doesn’t address the issue I have, which is that when I go to “pull the grip off” what I actually do is rotate my upper body to exert force on the handle. Perhaps the concept of pulling my arms away from the target will help with this?
Your tip about taking the club away faster was a huge help. I'll try this out Mark. Been watching you for 12 years, keep it up.
Love it all, thank you! Will try asap for certain.
Greetings from Virginia Mark. Golf season is full swing here . Keep the great videos coming 😊
Is this just the Sean foley Prosendr model
Uh…Ben Hogan would like a word wirh you lol
Mark, it would help if you sent me a new driver.
Also, if I don't solve my steep swing I'm going to suck at golf for the rest of my life!
I like that visualization, gonna give it a try tomorrow. Thanks!
Sounds like a great move – range tomorrow to put it into practice – progress report to follow!
Thanks Mark no harm – have to try this tip. I hit alot of fairways, but I am never really thrilled with the distance 220 yard carry but little forward run. I feel like I hit it well but with too much "backspin" not forward spin and momentum. Maybe this will help – I will let you know.
Does this work for irons? Thanks Mark
I stumbled on this myself 2 months ago. My drives are much better because of it.
I started hitting high straight bombs w/ my Radspeed driver when I started doing 3 key things: Wide takeaway (feel more than real likely) ; I TURN MY WRISTS OFF (let the club head whip thru) and “stay behind it” to create the whip and launch the ball. 😊
Sounds interesting. I will definitely give it a try
Interesting concept Mark. I will give it da go this week and lets you know how it goes. Just need to be careful not to launch my club! I will let you know how it goes.
interesting and will try it. i do something that maybe similar feel but will try the rip the grip off feel. I try and stretch my left arm and left thumb away from the direction of the downswing. lower body moving towards the target whilst left arm is working the opposite way and stretching
How does this work for the likes of Jon Rahm who doesn't set the club like that? In what direction does he pull please?
I've gotta give a crack. Considering after watching the iron video last week I was striking my irons better and the extra distance was ridiculous. I had to keep remembering to go one club less.
Isn't it strange that we can always go back and find these fundamentals yet they never went away, just forgotten, until someone brings them back.
