The Ridiculous Reason Why 90% of Golfers Can’t Strike Their Irons

By: Danny Maude | Duration: 00:12:29

Video Description

This is why you struggle to strike your irons pure and make solid contact 👇

1. Your sternum is not positioned correctly at address
2. Your forearms are not in line at set up – BIG ONE
3. Your posture is misaligned at set up
4. You don’t transfer your weight naturally in the golf swing
5. and one cool little trick that makes your golf swing effortless

What’s great is if you have any one of these faults in your golf swing they are really easy to fix and can make an instant impact on the quality of your ball striking not just with your irons but with your driver too.

For example if you want to hit your driver straight just getting the forearms aligned at address will be a real eye opener for you.

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Why do you make a video and put the narration over the ball position so we can't see the important position of the ball and club face?

This is so good and simple. I played it over and over at the range and just kept grooving the movements and the shots are pure, swing is relaxed and my mind is at ease. Like washing your hair – wet, lather, rinse, repeat. Thx from NE Ohio USA!! 😎

Semantics. You DO hit down if you take turf after the ball as the pros do. Bec. the bottom of your downswing is beyond the ball. So your club is still going down in the arc. Not being steep but just the normal downard movement of the club in the arc.

Great video – how would you avoid bad slices, is club path or a closed club face the key

after watching intently i went to the driving range and it didn't work. i was shanking and topping everything and when I did make contact, the ball only went a 100 yrd with my 7iron. I quit.

Great video. So true one the swing. Your arms make a V and it's your body that drives the ball, so your arms must swing that V, thx.

I'm one of those people who was taught to focus and aim in the area in front of the ball when hitting irons so that's what I've always done and it's been such a struggle. Can you tell me Danny where your eyes are focused and where you are LOOKING when you're above the ball and about to hit an iron? Because I am literally not even looking at the ball I'm looking at the area of green in front of it (that is my target). Are you looking straight at the ball?

This makes sense for a short iron where its lined up in the middle of your stance, but what about a long iron where the ball is a bit further up? Your sternum would naturally be a bit behind the ball.

One thing that I don’t like is the absence of lifting of the front heel. This slight lift of the heel on the backswing gives the less flexible individual more upper torso turn. I not saying that you must copy a pro’s style (an excellent example would be Jack Nicholas) but it’s one of the basics taught by the EasiestSwing method and it’s been very beneficial to me at 76 yo.🇨🇦👍👨‍🦳

So good this I'm just starting out with my first set of clubs. Being a cricketer for over 40 years I'm focused on hitting the ball not the target ahead as Danny showed here. These tips will help enormously. I'm really struggling with set up and distance from the ball.

I love this video. I have a question though: If i'm always line up so the ball from my chest hits spot behind ball, it seems like I can't put ball forward or back for longer or shorter irons? Thoughts?

Played in a local scramble on Saturday and hit a lot of fat shots. Very disconcerting. I found this video and yours on the draw the outline of the 45 degree plane with a pen and went out to the range today. Wow. Almost no fat shots. Hit irons very solidly. 5 iron pushed to the right but a good hit. Driver was great with the other video on follow the plane. Will now practice both on grass and the course. I’ve been struggling the last couple years after sciatica events left me out of the game for 6 and 8 months respectively. Been rebuilding my swing. Thanks.
