⛳️How many shots do you think this equipment if neglected would cost you in a round?

If the grips start to get hard it’s the lack of control especially in the wet. I really struggle
When the grips Get wet, but I do clean the grips typically once a month.

Matt, how often should grips be changed / how many rounds do they typically last?

It's definitely an issue I've found controlling the face with older worn out grips.

Just remember that rainy day when you couldn't keep hold of your clubs. That's the difference a worn grip can be. I'd say 2 to 3 shots lost per hole. Nice one Matt.

At least 3 shots a hole I did however go and get a club fitting

What would surprise me is in going for fitted clubs the fitter didn’t advise grip fitting at the same time.

I think it’s important to find a grip you like and have them in good condition…but I don’t think there is any data to show a correlation between golf performance and grips fitted relative to hand size .

My experience with grips is this: If the material is still reasonably supple, then clean them using a wet scrub sponge and some dish soap. This rinses off the hand oil that makes them slick. But if the grips feel hard and dry (you can tell by trying to peel off a piece at the bottom of the grip) then it is time for a change. Thx/MG.

I was surprised to learn that tour golf players use a firm to strong grip pressure at start up but relax the grip pressure during the transition to the downswing. 👍

Golf Pride tour velvet grips are the quickest to wear out. I like tacky grips.

Grip is most importend. It's the only connection between your body and the club.
