I wonder what trottie would have in the bag if he wasn’t hired by taylormade

Trottie, will there ever be a way that regular consumers can get their TaylorMade fairway woods’ lie angles bent flatter too? I love the TM 7 wood but it’s so upright.

Awesome set up! Are you playing a standard length driver? Love the history on the ball markers!💪

My bag build out is pretty much done now after years of not consistently playing. But now that I have been back in the game consistently this is what I went with. QI 35 LS, 3W core, 5W core, 7W core and 9W max have Kaili Blue shafts which were first purchases. (Cavity balance on LS). Also 2H and 4H with Kaili Blue. Also have my 3H which was the original TM hyrbid which came out back in 2005 I think it was. But QI35 hybrids swings differently so playing only those. My P770 3i to AW I chose Mitsubishi MMT because it felt most comfortable. It also performed best with fitting; I went with consistency over distance. All shafts, woods and irons, are Mitsubishi brand stiff while brand not being reason for pick does boost my confidence level for some reason. I found shot shaping was easier with this shaft for some reason. IDK. HITOE4 56 has True Temper D. Gold Regular though. Recent custom build of the MG Proto Wedge 60 X.09 I went with Mitsubishi MMT to match all my other irons and to try out. I want to see feel differences compared to heavier steel. IDK. Haven't played this consistently or worked on game this much since teenage years. Lots of time and money invested and I feel good about this set up and what I am finding to suit me best. Yardage went down from Mizuno Hot Metals with KBS tour Steel Stiff shafts but overall I prefer the feel to this all better. Grips I found that Tour Velvet Mid plus 4 feels most comfortable with swing and ball striking is crisp and controlled the most, atleast for now. GC3 LM has been an interesting addition to my game. Trying to utilize it as much as necessary between feel and technicalities. GC3 has me figuring out distance control a lot which has been very helpful. And there you have it. 😎…..oh, and still using my original Ray Cook Blade putter from 1990 lol.. putter fitting in the very near future.

Just a heads up for everyone. You can get around a golf course legitimately with just a 7 wood

  6. @marshalldarby8134

Any reason for stiff flex in the irons but extra stiff in the woods?

    Reply
  7. @marshalldarby8134

What made you decide against the 9 wood? Would it replace the 4 iron if it was in there?

How do u find it going from the grip master grip on the driver to the regular tour velvet on all the other clubs I did something similar not to long ago and had to switch them back to golf pride tv as the feel was just way to different. Have u tested your irons or wedges with them on ? They are a incredible grip though

I guess the 9 wood didn't make the cut. Any chance you might use it this year Trottie? Loved the 9 wood built vid btw – Helped me build my own 9w at home and its in the testing process. 7w has a forever spot in my bag.

For a guy that says he doesn't have time to put into the game, those irons, 5:13, look like they been getting quite a bit of use.

Hey Trottie, recently picked up my blended set of 770's 7 – pw and a 5 – 6 p790 all in KBS C-taper 120 stiff. Having some issues getting used to them on the course but the range seems to be going well. Its effecting my overall game and its been taking more of a mental toll. Maybe you could do a video more on the mental side of the game. Great video as always.

Not surprised by the putter choice. I have been going to pull the trigger on the DF3, but never could get over looking down at it.
When the ZT Spider dropped, I loved the look of it, I wasted no time to get it bought (thank goodness, as they were none left 3 days after it hit the shelf).
It took me about 4 rounds to get acclimated to it, but now I am so comfortable with it, my putting has definitely improved, I have already dropped 2 putts per round for about 6 rounds straight now.
