No food was wasted Mark was secretly making soldiers for his chucky egg snack and a weird shaped sandwich for his lunch.

Mark, this is what has bothered me about golf instruction for as long as I’ve been playing. Fact is, no one should be rotating their hips.

Your bread slice analogy was great, but it was still 2D. Add in the vertical dimension and it’s more akin to a piston system than a rotation plane.

An astronaut would generate minute amounts of force rotating their hips because there is nothing for the pistons (legs) to push against.

All that to make the point – the legs are the “prime mover” here. Not the hips. I hate that I spent 3 years learning golf being told to “rotate”. No, pump the pistons (legs) to move the axle (hips).

I'd say 45ish degrees. Although clearly depends on flexibility

Keeping your spine angle the same throught the swing is vital. Posture at address must be maintained. Lifting your head straightens the spine and reduces the angle destroying your swing. Watch the pros heads. They hardly move.

0 degrees. My right hip goes back on the backswing and then my left hip goes back in the downswing. I am not rotating or turning.
