Why FIRING The Hips Might Be Hurting Your Swing

By: Porzak Golf | Duration: 00:09:46

Video Description

Unlock more distance with your driver by focusing on hand speed rather than over-firing your hips. In this lesson, I’ll explain why generating hand speed through the downswing is more effective for power and control, and how over-rotating the hips can actually reduce your accuracy. Learn how to time your hand action correctly and create more efficient energy transfer, leading to longer, straighter drives off the tee. Watch now to maximize your driver distance without sacrificing control!

Do you support the feeling of letting your arms feel like they drop in transition, or push hands away from you?

Gives me cold sweats hearing that combo. High right and low left. Bad memories but now they are just memories thanks to this legend and his teaching videos!

Look at the replay slow motion on your first swing! You literally rotated your hips more than 90 degrees!!! ?

Great video as always. Given your horse race comparison i would assume you would teach the same philosophy with irons as well?

Not rotating your body at all but your belt buckle went from almost facing the camera to almost facing the target? I get the idea but what you demonstrated was not what you said.

Great video. As someone who has basically learned how to play golf from YouTube (for better or worse), this channel has helped me the most. Thank you!

Hi Adam, I'm 28 like a 7-8 hdc, and recently switched to your hip bump. I like the move but feel like when I do my hips get stiff some, how do I lower the pressure in the hips to get a better rotate after the hands go through? Thanks

It looks like you move your lower body more to set up a brace for your arms to actively swing the club through. Is that what you are feeling or is the lower body the trigger that starts your torso and arms through the ball? So the arms are not passively being carried through by the lower body move?

Thanks Adam, slow but sure my driver is now better n stable… hope later will be for wood n iron set which sometimes still have too much draw n suddenly aiming right 🤦‍♂️

Omg i was just lost playing with driver. I can play iron wedge wood all solid and compress. But driver slice. This is really related to me. My swing is like body shift and my head was on the top of the ball / ahead of it (hitting like iron / hit down ) that cause me slice and very confuse wheres my fault. So the key is staying center while still shift weight. Dangg , thanks Coach! I will try it

Should we think about the back staying to the target longer only with driver, or irons and wedges alike?

I literally need to watch this video a couple times a week. Straight block out to the right is such a typical miss for me and it’s always when I am being too passive with my hands. Absolutely love this video thank you man.

That was absolutely not just arms and hands. Look at your lower half and try to say that with a straight face
